Excellent location in old MontrealPosted Aug 26, 2015
Booked an executive suite and was pleased that is was large and very comfortable. Excellent all around and the location is unbeatable. I recommend highly. Be sure too to check out the 8th floor terrace if weather permits.

Very nice hotel, excellent location.Posted Aug 25, 2015
Very nice hotel in Old Montreal. Short walk to the old port area with lots of excellent restaurants. Hotel restaurant is a bit pricey, so we didn't eat there. Would certainly go back.

Great place to stay.Posted Aug 25, 2015

Cons: Can't think of anything.

Everything was great. The room was super nice and seemed like it was recently remodeled. The roof top restaurant and bar was outstanding and the food and service were exceptional. The hotel location was perfect for walking around Old Town Montreal. I also thought the price was reasonable. From the moment we checked in (which was around noon and they still gave us our room) it was a wonderful experience. Everyone there was very helpful, especially the young lady at the front desk, I believe her name was Madeline. We were on a motorcycle trip and sometimes when we check into a nice hotel or resort they are somewhat leery of us, but they treated us very well and helped me get a convenient, safe space in the garage for my Harley. My wife and I have traveled to many places around the world, and stayed in a lot of nice hotels, but this is one we plan to return to again someday. Also, the room was extremely quiet for a city hotel. We were on the second floor and heard very little street noise. Must be the type of windows they have.

Do's and Don'tsPosted Aug 25, 2015
Cons: I would expect a high-end hotel to exchange my U.S. money. They do not. You must find a local store to exchange your money.
Location: Easy walk downtown to many eateries. My guest and I felt very safe. I saw no police or security staff.
Good hotel at a perfect location. Visit the roof-top bar at night, its really nice and has wonderful views (but don't purchase many drinks... they are expensive!) Drink down-town, its much cheaper. Pay (per day) the hotel staff to park/ secure your car beneath the hotel, its cheaper than paying and finding parking which is at a premium in that area. The room was very nice. Clean and comfy. Be sure you don't get a room above the bar/ restaurant. The "thumping" music is annoying until late in the evening. The very tight hallway getting to and from the elevator (building #2) is the horrible. That particular hallway is used by many staffers and guests which makes it nearly impossible to get through. Save the aggravation, use the stairs!

Underwhelmed.Posted Aug 25, 2015
Cons: Bar staff need a lesson in manners and at least act like they are interested in service. Not suited for families or the infirm.
Location: Everything in Old Montreal is within walking distance.
Great location in Vieux Montreal. The hotel is encompassed in three adjacent (old - refurbished) buildings, one of which is a former bank. The west side is adjacent to and overlies a restauarant/evening spot which got quite loud and crowded on the weekends. Also, the rooftop bar shares its singular and small elevator with that of hotel guests, and being singular and small elevator which regularly was slow and quite crowded, especially with luggage, combined with rooftop bar patrons. There seemed no way to keep outside bar patrons from accessing the hotel floors, which diminished my impression of overall, hotel security, especially after-hours. Know this going in. Staff, especially the valets (Anthony) and bellman were superb. The concierge was less so helpful. Much local beta was gleaned from the bellman and valets, who made it a point to know guests' names, etc. The wait staff at the rooftop bar were aloof and inattentive, and frankly rudely on several occasions. I had to literally seek the bartender's attention in order to get a drink. This also occurred at the Kyo Bar. Not suit The rooms and bathrooms were quite small. My in-room safe had no power to it and thus did not function. I had expected much better service and accommodations for the price paid. Valet parking is obscenely expensive, though the valets were very good and attentive. Maid service was very good. We never received the Expedia Elite upgrade though we were promised it. Would I return? No

Close enough to Convention CenterPosted Aug 24, 2015
Pros: The spacious rooms and bathrooms made a pleasant stay. They responded quickly to fix a noisy bathroom fan.
Location: Quattro, an Italian restaurant is on the next street over. The Basilica is almost across the street. Take a cab to the shopping.
Convention Center around the corner. Good restaurants in the area, especially on McGill. The staff couldn't have been better with recommendations and making dinner reservations. Hotel is an open atrium and being on the second floor presented noise problems, especially on Saturday night. The noisy bar was ok and the meals good. We preferred the bar at the St. James, down the street where we were able to hear each other.

Very nice hotel.Posted Aug 21, 2015
Pros: The hotel was conveniently located near the old section, well within walking distance.
Cons: Bathroom was disjointed, non-functional for shaving/applying make-up. Had a tiny glass shelf over sink, and "ladder" that held hotel's items.
We walked everywhere, except our last day when we drove around and found this marvelous farmer's market. In the old section, there were many restaurants to choose from, lots of souvenir shops.

Great location dans le VieuxPosted Aug 19, 2015
Pros: Staff are very good. Room is clean, bed comfortable (enormous pillows though - brought my own).
Cons: The room had very few power outlets and some weren't usable for recharging devices (because they're too close together).
We were treated as well this time, our second stay in 2015, as our first. Expedia-Gold upgraded room, and free cocktails were appreciated. The staff are personable, anxious to assist and very good. We would recommend it to anyone wanting to be very close to the Metro (subway) while also being in the heart of Old Montreal.
