Looks good on the outside, but very disappointing
Very disappointing. Our loft was up five flights of stairs and there was no elevator. We are musicians with gear to carry up and down, and this kind of thing is no minor detail. But the hotel doesn't notify you of this in advance, or even after you make your booking. The hi-tech coffee machine was not functioning and there was no cream/milk provided in the fridge, even though the hotel is directly above a fancy restaurant and part of the same business chain. That would have been a most welcome touch given (i) the price bracket and (ii) the hi-tech coffee machine on display, but guests are expected to trek back down the stairs, go to the store and buy their own milk. (What is the point of having a mini-bar/fridge in the room if it's totally empty?) The worst part of this hotel is that the staff encourage you to use valet parking and tell you you can have your car back in 5 minutes whenever you need it. The truth is that it takes at least half an hour to get your car back, you're left waiting around for it forever, and they make one excuse after another about why it's not there when you call reception to ask about it. They are actually short staffed with no one available to get your car when you need it, and don't tell you the facts. A major problem when you have somewhere to be, or an important engagement or commitment to get to. Never staying at this property again. There are plenty of better, nicer, organised & more functional options in Old Montreal.
