At the heart of Montreal

Posted Mar 21, 2017
Pros: Location; Professional, kind staff
Cons: Control on noisy guests?
Location: Directly connected to Bonaventure Metro Station through hotel elevator; 5-10 mins walk via underground path to Central Station
We had a family trip to Montreal via train. The hotel is connected via underground path to the Montreal Central Station (though approx. 5-10 min walk). It is also directly connected to Bonaventure Metro station, and 715 bus (to Vieux-Port area) stop is just around the corner. We had a quiet room with a great view (NW) overlooking Place du Canada, Mary Queen of the World Cathedral, and a glimpse of Mont Royal. We could easily reach our destinations (mainly museums) with Metro. We had concerns on noise, and hotel management kindly and quickly resolved issues. Though hotel indoor pool was relatively small yet deep (1.5m flat) for children, it was well maintained and with staff on site and with pool noodles and other floating aids for kids. On our checking-out date, we put our luggages for our half-day city tour, and they took care of them well. I hope that I might be back again.

beautiful hotel, walk to Bell Center.

Great location. Had a wild winter storm but access to underground city from hotel made getting around easy. Nice room but no fridge so our leftovers spoiled. Great shower pressure, lots of hot water. Staff was fantastic. Bell Center tour amazing - 3 minute underground walk.

Great location, poor accommodations.

Posted Feb 8, 2017
Pros: Location
Cons: Cleanliness and decor
Location: Very close to the Bell Centre and 10 mins walk to St. Catherine Street, shopping and restaurants
The best thing about this hotel was it's close proximity to the Bell Centre. The front desk staff on the day we checked in and out ( same girl)was very friendly and helpful. Other than that it wasn't good. There was mould on the shower wall and the bath tub was really showing it's age. There was signs of them having had leaks on the ceiling in the room. The whole room needed a good cleaning. There was a very strong smell of air freshener , which told me they were trying to cover up another smell. The housekeeping staff only did the bare minimum each day in the room. They advertise a Starbucks on site but it's very rarely open. They also have in their amenities that you can have a fridge in your room if you request one. What they fail to tell you is there is an extra $30 charge for a fridge thats seen better days. This hotel is way over priced and all you are paying for is the location. There are lots of nice hotels in the area that are much cheaper, with more amenities, that are within a reasonable walking distance(10 minutes or less) to the Bell Centre and the downtown area.

Hello Pat - I appreciate you taking the time to post your review of our hotel. We apologize if we didn't meet your expectations regarding the room that was assigned to you upon arrival. As for the fridge, please note that we have removed all our old mini-bars from the rooms which will be replaced by mini fridges. As I am writing my response to you, we have completed 7 floors so far. We hope to serve you again whenever your travels bring you back to the city of Montreal. À bientôt!

Did the job

Posted Feb 6, 2017
Pros: Very clean, great location, great staff, nice lobby, good food nearby.
Cons: The bed could've been comfier (it seemed old). The decor was a bit old as well, and my room didn't have a fridge.
Location: It's right downtown and a walk from St.Catherine Street which seems to have it all.
I found this hotel to be ok. The beds weren't really comfortable, my room didn't have a fridge, and the television was old. Other than that, the shower was nice, it was very clean, the staff was great and, ultimately it was in a decent location close enough to everything. Parking is expensive though, and you can't freely take your car in and out unless you get valet parking for an additional $10 dollars. When it comes to the price, I found it to be a bit high for what we got. You can definitely take the experience up for the same price I paid.

Great for a Canadiens game!

Posted Feb 2, 2017
Pros: Just about everything but...........
Cons: Whats the deal with the GROSSLY over inflated prices in the hotel bar. Three drinks, small glasses, lots of ice. Over 40 bucks!
Location: Bell Centre, if you are heading to a hockey game or event, this is the place to stay. Just make sure you purchase liquor at a store and save money
Super location, super friendly staff, clean rooms, excellent location.

An Excellent Choice in the Heart of Montreal

Posted Jan 10, 2017
Pros: I don't think I found anything about this Marriott I didn't like. The staff were very friendly and always worked to make my stay pleasant.
Cons: I don't know if they had a currency exchange on site. If they did I think it could have been better advertised.
Location: I went for a concert. Most of the locations are within a 20 minute walk - but Montreal in the winter takes someone with a particular love of the cold
Upon arriving I was greeted at the entrance by a doorman who handled all my bags and ushered me to the front desk. Not having a strong grasp of French, the staff speak English as well and had no problems understanding me or making themselves understood. That's very helpful. The hotel has excellent facilities: restaurant, bar, weight room and other shops which I found very interesting. When you stay, try dinner in the restaurant - the General Tao chicken salad was great. The room was large and very pleasant as was the king-sized bed, and the window offered an excellent view of Montreal. When you plan to stay, make sure to investigate the local attractions of this beautiful city and her people and if you don't know French, don't worry. Most of the people have a great understanding of English and are very patient with their guests.

Excellent hotel in downtown Montreal

Posted Jan 9, 2017
Pros: Centrally located.
Cons: Nothing in my view.
Location: The hotel is only 3 minutes walk to the Bell Centre and directly connected to Montreal's underground city system with Via Rail just across the street.
Making hotel reservation through expedia.ca was extremely easy. The website is very user-friendly and easy to navigate. The hotel staff was very courteous, friendly and extremely helpful by providing recommendations to restaurants and directions and tips on how to navigate Montreal's Metro and underground city system. Without asking we were upgraded to a room on the 28th floor with a wonderful view of downtown Montreal. There is nothing more a mother and her 10 year old daughter could ask for on their mother-daughter shopping and pampering weekend in beautiful Montreal:-)
