Perfect location for a safari adventure

Posted Mar 22, 2017
Cons: Staff is on Africa-time, they can move a bit slow sometimes
Location: On site there are many activities available. Go to the Legend Conservation Center and see the white lions and wild dogs. Go horseback riding also!
This hotel has all you need for an amazing safari adventure. The rooms are clean and have everything you need (comfy beds, spacious bathroom with great shower, etc). The staff is very nice and accommodating. You are in Africa, so no one rushes to get things done, but if you can relax into that you will have an amazing stay. The food at the hotel is very good. The safari is the best part obviously - it is an amazing experience! I would go back to the Legend and recommend it to friends.

No value for money.

The resort is overly rated and does not deserve the current star rating. Our stay was a disappointment due to many facilities not functioning. In the four days we stayed, the boma was closed, the tea garden was closed, no water sports as advertised, no star gazing as advertised, the legend field is in very bad condition, animal waste all over the basket ball court. Expect to see cockroaches everywhere, on numerous occasions we have had to ask staff at the restaurant to clean the tables. Only certain parts of the resort are well kept even the much publicized golf course is not well kept. Getting around within the resort is a mission some sign posts are incorrect. The buffet menu was only available for breakfast lunch and dinner was alarcate with overpriced menus. The main swimming pool is just a let down for a lack of better words. The resort lacks class and personality and hence I would rate it a 2 star.

Good Day Anonymous, Thank you for your review. We apologise for the breakdown in service delivery during your time at the resort and can assure you that this is not the standard we hold ourselves to. The training of the staff is also a number one priority for Legend in 2017 and we believe that with the training programs in place for the upcoming months we will see a significant change. We do hope however that this will not deter you from returning to our resort in the not too distant future.

We booked a king size bed and got 2 single beds pushed together that shifted away from each other as soon as you move on the bed. We wanted to do a braai but was told it was not allowed and if we want to use the boma we have to arrange it with the manager. We think that if they have facilities at the chalets to braai there will be more people visiting the facilities. We don't think that you want to eat in a restaurant each and every meal. Some of the activities was also very expensive and as much as you want to do them, you need to work out what you can do and what not, as the prices is just so that you can't do everything.

My guests, Nicholas and Lisa Wagner, were extremely disappointed with their stay. - Following my conversation with Reservations advising that the couple were celebrating their anniversary, they were allocated a twin room. These details were also included on the initial booking. - The HK staff member 'deposited' their gowns in the room in a black bag! - After their spa treatment they were unable to shower as there was no water. Furthermore the spa bath water was ice cold. They had to bathe in the same cold water to remove the body scrub! - I spoke to Jordan on Saturday evening re the room allocation and he did attempt to remedy things considering the room allocation. On Sunday evening dinner was set up on the roof of the Clubhouse; very romantic, but absolutely freezing, windy and unpleasant. - The food from the initial meal at lunch on the Saturday in the Clubhouse to every other meal was awful. Nicholas commented that he could not understand that a burger could be messed up and when Lisa opted for vegetarian dish on the Sunday evening, it was inedible. Unfortunately what was intended to be a special anniversary breakaway was spoilt by poor service, low standard of food and lack of attention to detail. As I made their reservation and being in the hospitality industry, this is a huge embarrassment to me. Kind regards Linda

Good Day Linda, Thank you for your patience whilst we investigated this matter. From the offset may be apologise for the breakdown in communication which lead to a less than satisfactory stay with us at Legend Golf & Safari Resort. The lack of attention to detail and failure to act on instruction has been dealt with onsite and corrective action taken against the staff members in question. We completely understand your frustration as the weekend booked did not begin according to plan, however we understand from our team that since the matter came to light your guests have been well looked after. Whilst we understand that this is not how you had envisioned their time with us, we do hope they leave us with good memories from the rest of their visit. Once again our apologies for this breakdown in service delivery.

The suite was excellent.. The network though, it's a nightmare. When we were in the suite we could not watch the TV because the network was always unavailable. And to do the other activities, we had to pop out extra money.

Everything goes all right. Only the restaurant is not so qualified. Specially the main restaurant offer too limit food, and the price is higher than it valued.
