Nice and clean hotel. Staff was very friendly and attentive to my needs. Only thing I didn't like about this place is the lack of variety of food places to eat at.

Great for smokers, not good for non-smokers.

Posted Nov 13, 2016
Pros: The location and property are beautiful, and the staff very friendly and helpful.
Cons: It is a shame that such a beautiful resort still tolerates smoking.
Location: The location is beautiful beyond belief. Water sports, island tours, restaurants, etc.
Although the hotel has "non-smoking" rooms, it is apparently tolerant of smoking, and goes so far as to supply ash trays on the balconies of those rooms thereby ignoring well-known health issues related to second-hand smoke.

Dear Guest, Thank you for your feedback. We are sorry to read that you experienced discomfort during your stay. As per the local legislation we do not allow smoking indoors but cannot forbid guests doing so outside. The resort being very large and open air, this is rarely an issue but we are sorry if it caused you inconvenience. We are happy that you enjoyed the beauty of the island, diversity of activities available and the warmth and genuine friendliness of our staff. Sincerely, The Management

Fantastic

Pros: It was all fabulous but I think they need a nore extensive menu and a shop where you can buy chocolate and other essentials would be great.
Cons: Food options are a bit limited extend the menu and put in a sweet/cheese shop would be great.
Location: Fantastic

Nice hotel at the beach

Posted Jul 15, 2016
High cost to room quality ratio. For $300 a night for a standard room, doors were hard to close, entrance Door frame was loose, bathroom had little privacy and no fan, mattress was quite hard, and A/C was noisy. Other than that, the gourmet restaurant was outstanding and the beach amenities very nice

Overrated

We were so excited to stay at the Intercontinental Moorea for our honeymoon. We had done extensive research & ended up choosing the intercontinental over the Hilton based on reviews & location. When we arrived for our 3 night stay, we could immediately tell the hotel was tired. Not a big deal considering but that should have been our first warning sign. There are some places in the front that you can tell they've updated - the bar & restaurant area specifically - but other than that, it just feels tired. Cons: We had a regular room which was fine but severely outdated - mold on bathroom counter, rooms smell musty & no control of aircon temperature. Not sure how the bungalows are but would recommend a beach front vs over the water - they're much more private & right on the lagoon. We were extremely disappointed in the Polynesian dinner & dancing - $220 for horrible food, overpriced wine & zero service. Could have gone to the restaurant below, had edible food & still enjoyed the show. Don't waste your money on this - not worth it. We inquired about jet skis at their nautical shop & the gentlemen was marking up prices right in front of us! Not only was the exchange rate wrong but he tacked on an extra $50 just because - head elsewhere for reasonable & fair prices. Service just wasn't there. When paying this much money, we expected more & were unimpressed every time. Pros: The pool area is great & definitely take advantage of the free kayaking & paddle boarding - we saw 2

Beautiful resort, poorly managed

Posted Jun 14, 2016 on Hotels
The resort, location, bungalows, beaches, snorkeling, etc are all wonderful here, but we had several issues that could have been resolved very easily, but were handled extremely poor. It all started with them putting us in a beach bungalow that wasn't beach front (used to be garden but was reclassed beach). Wasted half a day dealing with the manager + staff, and after being offered a nearly as-poorly-located bungalow, refused and in the end got upgraded 2 nights to #514 which is their best OWB, and then back to #405 which is a great beach bung. Also had issues with their business center and received zero help until I phoned IHG and complained. Was comp'd 2 meals, 20% discount on other food, got a bottle of champagne and even a very late 4pm check out, which was all nice but they left a sour taste in our mouth for our honeymoon. Sofitel Bora Bora was WAY better in all aspects.

Dear Guest, We would like to thank you for your feedback and rest assured that your comments will enable us to further improve our services and facilities. We are sorry to see that most aspects of your stay did not meet your expectations. In high season, it is always difficult to give the opportunity to choose his bungalow, however we strive to satisfy our customer depending our occupancy. We hope that nonetheless you have brought home some pleasant memories of your time in French Polynesia. Sincerely,
