Great for smokers, not good for non-smokers.

Posted Nov 13, 2016
Pros: The location and property are beautiful, and the staff very friendly and helpful.
Cons: It is a shame that such a beautiful resort still tolerates smoking.
Location: The location is beautiful beyond belief. Water sports, island tours, restaurants, etc.
Although the hotel has "non-smoking" rooms, it is apparently tolerant of smoking, and goes so far as to supply ash trays on the balconies of those rooms thereby ignoring well-known health issues related to second-hand smoke.

Dear Guest, Thank you for your feedback. We are sorry to read that you experienced discomfort during your stay. As per the local legislation we do not allow smoking indoors but cannot forbid guests doing so outside. The resort being very large and open air, this is rarely an issue but we are sorry if it caused you inconvenience. We are happy that you enjoyed the beauty of the island, diversity of activities available and the warmth and genuine friendliness of our staff. Sincerely, The Management

Nice hotel at the beach

Posted Jul 15, 2016
High cost to room quality ratio. For $300 a night for a standard room, doors were hard to close, entrance Door frame was loose, bathroom had little privacy and no fan, mattress was quite hard, and A/C was noisy. Other than that, the gourmet restaurant was outstanding and the beach amenities very nice

Overrated

Posted Jul 2, 2016
We were so excited to stay at the Intercontinental Moorea for our honeymoon. We had done extensive research & ended up choosing the intercontinental over the Hilton based on reviews & location. When we arrived for our 3 night stay, we could immediately tell the hotel was tired. Not a big deal considering but that should have been our first warning sign. There are some places in the front that you can tell they've updated - the bar & restaurant area specifically - but other than that, it just feels tired. Cons: We had a regular room which was fine but severely outdated - mold on bathroom counter, rooms smell musty & no control of aircon temperature. Not sure how the bungalows are but would recommend a beach front vs over the water - they're much more private & right on the lagoon. We were extremely disappointed in the Polynesian dinner & dancing - $220 for horrible food, overpriced wine & zero service. Could have gone to the restaurant below, had edible food & still enjoyed the show. Don't waste your money on this - not worth it. We inquired about jet skis at their nautical shop & the gentlemen was marking up prices right in front of us! Not only was the exchange rate wrong but he tacked on an extra $50 just because - head elsewhere for reasonable & fair prices. Service just wasn't there. When paying this much money, we expected more & were unimpressed every time. Pros: The pool area is great & definitely take advantage of the free kayaking & paddle boarding - we saw 2

overwater bungalow was not a true overwater -

Posted May 17, 2016
the intercontinental advertise over water Bungalow's. a great percentage of their over water bungalows are on the land and jut out onto the lagoon! - hey are free standing bungalows but please before you pay for these check out the exact description. The food is very expensive to eat and drink here and the quality not great for their pool bar sandwiches over $30AUD for a sandwich.

Dear Guest, I would like to thank you for your comment and for your stay in our Hotel. We are sorry to hear of the frustration experienced with respect to your bungalow. It is true that we have a different concept regarding our overwater bungalows as they are located on the edge of motus instead of along a pontoon. The reason for this is to preserve the natural environment of Moorea as well as encourage an authentic atmosphere through the property. The overwater bungalow is the same as presented in our photos, brochures and website. We hope that you will keep some beautiful memories of your visit to Moorea. Sincerely, The Management

Beautiful hotel with good access to the beach and lovely infinity pools. Would stay again. Only downside was how expensive the food was! But had a very relaxing experience regardless.

Good location

Not practical to stay in the hotel in Moorea - it's much better to rent studio or appartment and have a small kitchen as everything is overpriced for no reason .
