Nice views of the Tetons, but....

Posted Sep 17, 2017
After a long day spent exploring Yellowstone, we looked forward to a relaxing stay at a ranch, a new experience for us. Instead, we were directed to a tiny, dirty room with an even tinier, dirtier bathroom. The soap that was offered for TWO of us to use for general washing and for showering was barely the size of a quarter, there were no toiletries . On the wall was a hairdryer holder, but no dryer. One bed had a huge yellow stain on the spread. . With no tv in the room we hoped to read. However, next to one bed the light was so poor that we had to take the shade off and next to the other was a light that was not plugged in, nor was there anywhere to plug it. When we tried to connect to wifi with the code given to us, it wouldn't work do a receptionist very kindly logged us in as staff and that did work, although not in our room but on the decki in the rain. That was not an option we liked. At dinner, of necessity in the main lodge because there's nothing else around, I opted to have a glass of water., which came in a large plastic cup. I asked if I could bring the cup back to my room and was told that of course I could since I paid for it. Two dollars and fifty cents for something I didn't even ask for! we heard every movement in the room next to us, as I'm sure they heard us. We decided to forfeit the money we had paid for a second night and get as far away as possible from a miserable experience, and all for the exorbitant price of $245 a night. I DO NOT recommend this

Nice cabin. If you like the rustic feel this is an awesome place. The owner and manager went above and beyond.

Promising Stay/Disappointing Experience

Posted Sep 9, 2017
Pros: The view of the river valley- beautiful- even with the smokey haze from the forest fires in Idaho and Montana obscuring the view of the Teton range.
Cons: The restaurant needs an upgrade. Bathrooms need redone. Air conditioning is needed.
Location: The location was very convenient to the south entrance of Yellowstone or the north entrance of Teton NP.
The cabins at Heart 6 are quite dated and need to be remodeled. The view over the valley is spectacular, but it doesn't make up for the somewhat amateurish service provided. It wasn't just one thing. It was a lot of little things which disappointed. Probably the biggest disappointment was the restaurant. Although the entrees were pretty high priced even for tourist country, the service was very poor and the food was below average.

DIsappointment

Posted Sep 5, 2017
On the AARP Expedia website, this was advertised as a "tent cabin" with 4 beds. It is actually a teepee with no floor and cots. There is one bathroom to share with a lot of other guests. It was always occupied. This was a huge disappointment and definitely not worth the cost.

Pros: The staff in the restaurant was friendly, food was good. We also loved the cat that came to our room, he loved drinking water out of the shower.
Cons: Change the web site, so guests know what they are really getting.
When we booked this room, the picture showed a room with 4 bunk beds and for 2 nights that would work for us, with a bathroom. When we arrived we were told that we were in a tent with 4 cots, no bathroom, no shower, they did supply linens and sleeping bags. That was not what we expected, they were able to give us a room that slept 8 for triple the price of what we thought we would be paying. We changed our 2 night stay to a 1night stay and if it wasn't so late we would have cancelled completely and left for other accommodations. The desk staff was not very friendly and didn't really work with us, then when other guests came in I over heard her giving them a much smaller room for less money, they didn't have reservations.

Dude Ranch enters Hospitality Industry

Posted Aug 28, 2017
Pros: Pleasant attitude of staff, great wilderness environment, accessibility to travellers.
Cons: Upgrade to code all facilities
Location: Teton National Park is the main attraction and is phenomenal
Management at Ranch hoped to cash in on Solar eclipse event added large Tee Pees to their cabins offered on website, but the infrastructure of showers and bathrooms wasn't there to support increased guest volume. Bathrooms that were designated for tenters were remote and would not pass inspection in any Expedia.com facility. Dirt and mold, electrical code safety violations, and insufficient ratio of facilities to guests. Structures are very old and perhaps suit the Dude Ranch motif, however are not acceptable as a Expedia.com offering in the marketplace. My discussion with management lead me to believe the tents were to be temporary and my booking was an IT error in failing to remove offerings once Eclipse event was over. Please note, staff were pleasant, from front desk to all help, this was systemic, and in no way reflects on personnel.

The Eclipse is a once in a life opportunity and we are all lucky to have seen this event. We purchased 5 teepees for the eclipse and thus 5 families were given the opportunity to stay on the ranch that would have never seen the eclipse. It was simply amazing.

Great relaxing retreat!

Posted Aug 24, 2017
My stay while was short, it was a very good experience. My first impression was that the main lobby could have used a good dusting and cleaning, however, it is a working ranch so I guess a little dust is to be expected. Once settled into my cabin and registered for my activities, the experience was wonderful. Here are a variety of activities you can participate in (fishing, horseback riding, rafting, etc.) or you can just sit back and enjoy the beautiful scenery. Overall, I would do it again in a heartbeat!

It is a nice place, but very overpriced (at close to $300 a night) for the small size of the rooms without amenities, a/c, TV, Radio, or including a breakfast. The person that checked us in was fantastic, helpful, and very nice. The location was farther than we thought, time wise, to return back into Yellowstone the next day.

We do not have TV's in the rooms because we are in a national park and the infrastructure of the area does not support the necessary internet speeds to add the service. But, the views are amazing so why watch TV?

Great get away!

Posted Aug 14, 2017
The ranch had a great view. It's in a great location from Yellowstone & Grand Tetons National Parks. Lots of wildlife to see. The staff were very nice. This is a place to stay if you want to get away and disconnect from the chaos. No tv, no internet streaming, just plain peace and quite.

Nice Ranch!

Posted Jul 21, 2017
Pros: Clean, comfy, spacious room, good location.
Cons: Our shower was not working in one of our bathrooms. Carpet should go!
Location: Great location close to Grand Teton attractions!
It is clearly a Ranch style hotel and if you like it, that's is your Ranch. We had a room upgrade in our stay, and that was really good because we had more space and it made our stay much more comfortable. Staff was ok - I think they could be more interactive and talkative, but that's just me. Restaurant has just a few choices in its menu, but believe me - they are really good! The steak was unbelievably tasty and delicious. And they were open until 10pm what helped us the day we arrived. Breakfast was nice - not awesome but it worked. Horse riding was a great experience!

Nice: Thank you for the compliments and the constructive criticisms! I agree. We are going to be building new cabins and they will all have wood floors like the lodge. The menu in the restaurant has been made into a full steakhouse!!! It is as large as the Buffalo Cafe, out competitor!
