Perfect for a quiet, people-free getaway!

Posted Nov 8, 2016
Location: MCAS Cherry Point, Beaufort, Morehead City, New Bern, Atlantic Beach, Core Sound, and the ferry system to access the Outer Banks.
If you are looking for a great place to recharge your batteries, this is the place. The owners are genuine and friendly. The location feels like you are far away from the world but in reality, a 15-25 minute drive will put you in town. The lodge was built 50 years ago and the owners are slowly bringing it into this century. The rooms are clean, comfortable and each have their own climate control unit, coffee pot, t.v., and free wireless internet. The towels and linens are high quality and not standard issue "motel" type; adding to the "home-away-from-home" feel. It felt more like visiting a friend's house than staying in a strange place. I will definitely be back.

Not worthy for this price, not easy to go there, room is too small, breakfast set up nice, but no one eat there, just drink coffee. Not recommend to other staying there, one time experience is enough..................................................................

Breakfast was good. Nice sit down area. Bathroom was kinda gross. But staff was friendly and room was comfortable. Descent place to rest your head for the night.

Price was good

The walls in a room where paper-thin. There were two dogs barking next door that I had to keep calling the office to get the dogs out of the room and keep him quiet. A baby was crying half the night. It was a joke that you can have barking dogs right next door to you in a room that you're on vacation for

Very remote Fishing Lodge

Posted Apr 24, 2016
Pros: The owner Gary was fabulous. We wish him all the best in his retirement plan to fix up the place and host his guests.
Cons: Definitely needs new linen and towels.
Location: This place is not near anywhere. We thought we were lost.
Gary the new owner was friendly and keen to please. He has big plans to improve this place. At present, it is small old and tired. The bed creaked, the room is very small and the towels were small, green and thin. The Lodge is 15 minutes out of Beaufort and not near anything.

1950's style.

Pros: Quiet location. Clean. Not the Ramada.
Location: About 7 miles from town. Went into Beaufort by the waterfront. Very nice. Nice dinner at The Spouter Inn w/waterfront dining, saw wild horses.
It is "off the beaten path". No phones in rooms, no cell service, quiet, comfortable for a 1 nite stay.

This was a quiet place. The best part was the personable service of the staff. Everything was clean and ready.

Very outdated

Posted Aug 17, 2015
Pros: it is quiet
Cons: pretty much everything
Location: there is nothing to do nearby......you have to drive a long way to get back to civilization.
This would be great for fishermen who just need to catch a few hours of sleep but I don't recommend it for family vacations. It is very old and outdated. Tiny rooms and out in the middle of no where.

Nice quiet place to stay

Very nice and helpful staff! Clean, quiet and comfortable. No frills, no dvd or radio, not good lighting in the bathroom for putting on makeup and no pool. That being said we really enjoyed ourselves and will stay there again.
