Good value hotel, but some challenges

The staff were welcoming and the room was clean. Both my wife and I found the mattress to be too soft and sunk in the middle. We were very disappointed to find out that the cable was out when we arrived (as it had apprently been since 4PM that day). When we left the next morning, it was still out. The front desk told us it was Comcast and this was the 4th time it had been out in the last few months. Microtel may be saving money on the cost of this cable package, but the poor service reflects right back on the hotel.
The breakfast was adequate, but required restocking. The morning challenge came because there was only 1 person on staff to manage the front desk (check out) and maintaining the breakfast supplies/area. This is too much responsibility for 1 person to manage without compromise to one area or the other. When we inquired, it turns out the same person is also responsible for maintenance calls until other staff arrive at 9:30AM.
I'd pay a few more dollars a night to have working cable and adequate staffing.
