Wonderful location

Posted Sep 23, 2016
Pros: The location, the cleanliness, the decor
Cons: Room a little dated and bathroom floor slippery when wet
Location: Right next to the main attractions, the Metro and the tourist bus. Many good restaurants and shopping centers nearby
We stayed at the Metropol for two days in September. The location, right at the centre of town, near Red Square, the Kremlin and the Metro station was perfect. The Art Deco style in the public areas is beautiful and evocative, although the room was a little dated. The staff were attentive and friendly. The breakfast in such a beautiful room was delightful.

Comfortable and friendly hotel

Posted Sep 19, 2016
First of all, the staff were very friendly. This is one of the best hotels that I visited in Europe. Art Nouveau-style interior design was beautiful. Especially beautiful decorated windows of the stairs. Location was good and the hotel is also close to the center , the room itself was comfortable.

Lux hotel next to Red Square

Posted Sep 11, 2016
Pros: Location, style, staff, breakfast
Cons: some housekeeping erratic
Location: 100 yards to metro, 200 to Red Sq & Dead Lenin, 500 to Kremlin entrance.
Repeat visit to this charming art nouveau hotel. Very very central - Red Square 200 yards. Only downside of this, it puts hotel within security cordon for major city events, so access sometimes restricted. Room rate was so keen, it made breakfast buffet seem expensive. But you have to experience it at least once: since if you take Moscow vacations frankly you're not banking on going to heaven, so enjoy the harp playing as you scrum your eggs in the magnificent gilded hall. Moscow now seems more relaxed, welcoming & outfacing, compared to our 2005 visit.

Exceptional location, excellent hotel & staff.

Pros: Exceptionally good location, excellent staff and quiet spacious comfortable room..
Cons: Shuttle service from & to the airport.
Location: Very close to the Kremlen & Red Square and central to everything else with easy access to Moscow Metro, sightseeing bus and GUM shopping centre.
The hotel is only a stone throw from the Kremlen & Red Square and central to everything else with easy access to the superb Moscow Metro and 5 minutes walk to a exceptionally nice GUM shopping centre with delicious authentic Russian food. Metro Hotel is very nice with very comfortable, quiet spacious room. All staff were very helpful, speak god English and before leaving, my wife & I went and thanked the front staff for their excellent service.

Excellent hotel in downtown of Moscow

Posted Aug 28, 2016
Pros: I liked the location, amazing architecture, comfortable room, exceptionally delicious meal at "Savva" restaurant, excellent service & hospitable stuff
Cons: The front desk staff should give better explanation of the specific of the Executive Lounge, breakfast buffet, "Savva" restaurant like Gulnara did that
Location: Located in downtown near Red Square, Kremlin & the Moscow river is in a walking distance. Lots of places for sightseeing, shopping, restaurants.
This hotel is located near Red Square, the Bolshoi & Malyi Theatres. It has a very rich history, delightful architecture and inside it looks like an amazing museum. Lots of celebritys and political leaders stayed at this hotel over the years. On the first floor of the hotel there is a restaurant "Savva" named after the founder of Metropol Savva Mamontov, that is one of best reteraunts in Moscow with New Russian Cuisine. I would like to note excellent work of Gulnara, the represententive of the Exectutive Lounge. She was very hospitable, friendly and highly quilified employee. People like her create very comfortable and pleasent atmosphere at the hotel, so I feel like coming back to Metropol Hotel again.
