Nice no frills hotel with several pleasing perks

Posted Dec 22, 2016
A historic property in the heart of Moscow. Aging but still is nicely maintained hotel, popular with (you guessed it) Chinese. Nice, popular with locals cafe, excellent restaurant. Next to subway, theater, restaurants. 20 minuted walk to the Red Square, only 2 stops via subway. Did I mention very affordable room rate? All in all, you can't go wrong by staying here, especially if you're on a budget.

Checkin in during winter, big room and bed, on the main street with restaurants walked everywhere, plus a club on the roof.

Pros: The rooms were nice and clean.
Cons: The elevators need some work. the one that goes up to the 13th floor didn't always work.
the room was very nice.Good location next to a metro station. About a 40 minute walk to Red Square with a lot of interesting things along the way. Many good places to eat nearby.

Historic hotel with authentic period furniture

Posted Sep 4, 2016 on Hotels
The Peking is like staying at a museum, impeccably preserved. The rooms are huge with mid 20th century furniture. It is immaculately clean! The staff is knowledgeable, super friendly and helpful. the Metro is right there, and it is walking distance from Red Sq. Lots of good restaurants near by. The building is interesting and there is a little museum on the property.

Overall nice hotel

Posted Jul 17, 2016 on Hotels
I had a 2 day stop over in Moscow and this was a great location for it, lots of restaurants and bars that serve great cocktails near by. Room was of good size and the reception staff spoke English and were really friendly and helpful. The only negatives are that the shower was very small and uncomfortable and the security make you feel very unwelcome every time you return to the hotel
