A great city break
A very nice modern hotel with good facilities. Web site didn't say that parking had to be paid for, only that parking was available. Overall the service was good, although the breakfast food was slow to be replenished and often ran out of certain items long before the end of breakfast service.

Excellent stay
cannot highly enough recommend this wonderful place, great situated near a park and the great surrounding of Trier. Everything about this hotels is faultless including friendly service, a warm welcoming feeling and superb rooms. Fantastic balcony overviewing the big threes in the park, safe parking and super restaurant and breakfast buffet.

What i enjoyed was the look of the hotel. The restaurant and staff there was great. What I didnt like was from time to time you could smell the sewer drain in oir room.

really enjoyable vacation
took a short vacation on way back from seeing wifes family in Trier, hotel was welcoming set just outside the city ( bus runs regularly) to and fro. Saw all the sites and enjoyed flamkuchen and wine in Weinsinnig stube. Will definetly go back again. Hotel had an excellent 2 tyoes of sauna & steam room we tried out.

Nice Hotel at the Park
I studied for several years in Trier and thought to stay one day at this hotel. now being back after many years I did and was not disappointed. The stuff is friendly and service is good. Not sure if they have an international 4 star ranking by certificate, guess they are somewhere between 3 and 4 stars. I am luxury hotel design professional and think Nells is doing a good job. I was happy with my stay overall. The room information leaflet was a bit hidden, could be improved to be easy to find. Fresh fruits on the room would be nice and gives the chance to place a knife in the room. No complementary water, no coffee, no water heater, things to improve.

The staff at Nells Park understand and practice hospitality well! The service during our stay was fantastic. Rooms and all amenities excellent. We enjoyed dinner and breakfast here - both were outstanding. If this hotel was closer to the beaten track, I would rate it 11/10. Highly recommend it!

Great staff!
The hotel staff is super friendly and helpful they made our stay so much better. The spa is also nice and a good option after a log day of biking around town. The food in the restaurant is ok, they could do better than that. The neighborhood around the hotel is a bit weird perhaps more boring than weird, not much to do around, but if you're planning on going around the city by bike and to the wineries near by (that was exactly what we did) then it's a very good location.

Great place to stay.
Hotel situated on the edge of a park. Half hour walk to city centre, bus option, lovely town, many historical sites to visit and great shopping. River trips on the Mosul well worth it. Staff very helpful indeed, excellent restaurant.

Comfortable hotel in a good location.
A very comfortable hotel in a good location-with parking (5euros a night). This was only an overnight stop so we didn't go into the town as we had visited it previously but I think it's close to the centre. We had an excellent evening meal and a good breakfast. There is a nice bar and all the staff were very friendly and helpful.

We were there for a weekend trip. The Room didn't have a refrigerator nor air conditioning. For this price, and being a 4-Star hotel, i expect it to have these things. Plus the parking is payable.

Nice spacy room on groundfloor with terrace. Only difficulty was that last days the guests on the floor above us (room with balcony) were chain -smokers. Sitting outside on their balcony made our sitting outside impossible. Also in our bedroom we could smell the smoke. The offer for another room wa declined.

A most wonderful experience.
We booked a room for 1 night as our son's wedding reception was held at the hotel. When we arrived, we were met by very attentive wait staff. We enjoyed a wonderful light lunch with the wedding party, then checked into the room. What a wonderful, quaint, beautiful, comfortable room! The hotel was very quiet. Staff were alert, attentive and polite. The wedding reception could not have been more delightful. The wait staff were amazing! The food was exceptional. The ambiance was superb. Again, the wait staff need to be acknowledged as very professional. For example, when they were serving the food, they wore white gloves and made eye contact with each other so to set the food on the table at the same moment. We could not have been more impressed. Thank you Nells Park staff for making our visit from California so memorable.

Excellent family-run German hotel
A good non-chain hotel in a lovely setting with park and lake immediately to the rear of the hotel. Food is good, rooms comfortable without being too 'businessy', parking is 5 euros a day (moan) but is immediately in front of the hotel. Internet is free but comes in at around 1mb at best. My only crib is that mattresses are quite firm but that is a personal thing which may actually suit some people more than it does me. This is a typical, good independent German hotel. But if you are not German, the menu caters for a wide variety of taste. I had steak and trimmings one night (not the best but fine), tagliatelli with truffles the next. You would have to be very fussy to find any serious gripes about the place.

Excellent hotel with spa. We stayed one night on our bike trip and with bikes it's a bit far to downtown but manageable . We enjoyed an excellent dinner . The staff was very friendly.

We stayed for three days: staff were freidnly and helpful, room clean with a balcony and view over a park; we could only dine there for one night, but the food was very good and there is a pretty good wine list: we certainly enjoyed the wine we had there.

Such a great, comfortable hotel. It's about 1.5 miles from the city center and all the sites. Public transportation (bus) is easily obtained from the hotel, which sits on Nells Park. The setting is fantastic and the staff is helpful and friendly.

Great Trier hotel
Great hotel in Trier. Brilliant staff, very helpful and accomodating. The bed was terribly uncomfortable. We ate our Anniversary Dinner in the Resteraunt in the hotel in the "winter garten". The food was amazing but we were seated uncomfortably close to strangers throughout our meal. The breakfast buffet was delicious and a much better seating arrangment.

Decent hotel just out of town.
Best if you have a car as close to motorway and roads north to Mosel valley. There is bus service into town - about 10 minute ride. Pleasant park behind hotel. Single room accommodation was rather sparse. No fridge, no tea/coffee maker, only 3 hangers. Carpet rather tired. Small bathroom was OK and clean. Shower worked well, but no shelf for accessories. Decent TV but no movies. Free internet was good. Hotel restaurant food was very good but limited choice, especially of more reasonably-priced items. Excellent local wines. Recommend the dry Riesling for about 5 euros for a small carafe. Breakfast was average. Reception staff were pleasant and helpful and spoke English.

Location, location, location.
A very nice place right on a magnificent city park complete with a large pond and numerous ducks, geese, swans and herons. Perhaps a little far from the downtown core unless you like to walk but there is excellent municipal bus service for a Euro or two. About a 7 Euro taxi fare from the Main Bahnhof. Trier is a beautiful city with numerous UNESCO attractions/sites. Worth a day or two for a good look around.
