Comfortable Country Hotel

Posted Aug 17, 2017
Pros: Devonshire Tea for two is good and good value Surroundings are very nice Buffet Breakfast was quite good - although coffee could be improved
Cons: See above
Location: Good location for golf, visiting Fitzroy Falls & Morton National park, easy access to Bowral and Moss Vale
The rooms in the old manor house are good to relax in - especially by the fire Cleaning staff were average e.g. our room was not vacuumed Katers restaurant was fully priced and needed more trained staff for a 1star restaurant - for example, we ordered the SAME salad on two consecutive nights and got totally different outcomes. One was double the price and was just a bowl of purple leaves with a few extras thrown in! Hardly even edible. The other was excellent.

Lovely hotel for our baby moon weekender

Posted Jul 18, 2017
Pros: The indoor sitting areas next to the fireplaces!
Location: Great location. The hotel is out of way slightly, so you are required to drive into town if you'd like to go to restaurants and shops.
We had a great time at this hotel. It is a nice big property with plenty of places to sit and relax in the peace and quiet. The rooms are great, with plenty of privacy and are spacious inside.

Beautiful place for a winter getaway. Wonderful manicured grounds perfect for a morning walk with the frost on the grass.

Week Day Get Away

Posted Jul 1, 2017
Pros: Peppers has all the charm of a historical rural estate (modernised accordingly). The grounds are spectacular and quiet. Awesome breakfast.
Cons: We enjoyed the experience as is, and couldn't recommend any improvements.
Location: The Southern Highlands are a truly beautiful region. The townships are vibrant, friendly and well presented. The drives between towns is scenic.
My wife and I had a fantastic time exploring the beautiful Southern Highlands. Peppers is centrally located, with only a short drive to all the main attractions, wineries etc. The region has some excellent restaurants and shopping.

Peppers weekend break

Posted May 28, 2017 on Wotif
Pros: The feeling of being welcome
Cons: Nothing
Location: The location is great, the large grounds are beautiful, close to Bowral and a great place to meet up with family and friends
From the time we arrived at Peppers we new we were going to enjoy the time spent there, the staff were so helpful, the food was lovely and the room was faultless, we met our family there the following morning and also agreed they were made very welcome and enjoyed it immensely, and we will definitely be back.

Great location, heritage and value...

Posted May 24, 2017 on Wotif
Pros: Setting, ambience, atmospheric great hall; some staff were fabulous.
Cons: Rooms to either be updated, or stay in keeping. Found the room a bit of a mish mash.
Location: Location fabulous to get away, though a drive to the nearest shop/town. Though not far. The Southern Highlands is fabulous; lots to see and do.
Managed to get this interesting and lovely property on sale...otherwise would not have stayed. The grounds and old manor house were beautiful, and the inside was very impressive! The hallway and log fire was just incredibly atmospheric, and had a welcoming and friendly ambience. The room was a mixture of old and new....but could have been done better, and a bit cool at night from un-insulated windows...but that's part of the charm of an old building I guess. Don't always want reverse cycle on...but had a lovely radiator which did the job. The first 2 nights (midweek) were great, but when it got busy at the end of the week, the noise filtered up to my room. And the bedroom next door had a horrible squeaking door... I was surprised that there were a few children there on the last night too; as it didn't really seem a children friendly hotel.... I wouldn't pay full price, but overall it was an amazing experience. The Katers restaurant snacks were limited, and the restaurant was nice for a treat....but I was happy with a glass of wine by the fire. For me that was worth every cent.

Lovely Country Retreat

Posted May 22, 2017 on Wotif
Pros: The architecture and the grounds. Absolutely beautiful.
Cons: The restaurant. Overpriced and in part the food is poor quality. Portions for the price definitely too small. The room was also a little small.
Location: The Southern Highlands is a stunning part of NSW. Well worth a visit.
The setting is stunning, so it's hard not to fall in love with this hotel. It is beautifully presented and very luxurious.
