Absolutely stunning in every way

Posted Dec 29, 2017
Loved our stay - service, stay and location. The service is amazing, always greeting you with smiles and wanting to please you to the max. Perfect stay in every way. Most memorable, for my mother’s birthday, the Intercontinental Bora Bora Resort & Thalasso Spa made it extra special. It was the highlight of our holiday.

A resort that won’t disappoint

Posted Dec 23, 2017
Incredible staff from start to finish. Bungalows get better as you upgrade, but my opinion is you won’t be disappointed with any one you choose. Food and drinks were excellent but pricey, I would recommend a half or full board if you have the option.

Great hotel. Best one in bora bora, seriously

Posted Nov 23, 2017
Great hotel in almost all respects. The food became a little repetitive and wasn't as flavorful as we would have liked. Otherwise you truly cannot do better for location, customer service and weather.

Absolutely Stunning

Posted Sep 12, 2017
Pros: Staff, Location, Gardens, Facilities, Bungalows, peacefulness
Location: There are many things you could do from this Resort, most needing a boat pick up, but it was so gorgeous we didn't leave the resort the whole time
Me and my husband feel head over heels in love with this place. Its location gives it a stunning view of Mt Otemanu and the colour of the water surrounding the resort was just amazing, I have never seen such a beautiful colour. The gardens were beautiful, staff very friendly and over water villas were gorgeous. Although it was peak season and apparently the resort was busy, because of its layout it didn't feel that way, it was so peaceful and quiet. I have travelled around the world quite extensively and Bora Bora and this Resort are the most beautiful places I have been to so far

Nice but way too expensive!

Posted Sep 7, 2017 on Hotels
The place is great and the service and ambiance and view are all wonderful. The only thing we didn't like is that the food is WAY too expensive, and they seem to nickel and dime you when you get there. Our 20 minute one way boat ride from the hotel to the airport was $135! Nice, but not sure I would go there again for that kind of price!

Dear Katrina, Ia Ora na from Bora Bora ! We trust you had a safe and comfortable trip back home. I would like to sincerely thank you for taking the time to write this review regarding your recent stay at our Resort. We perfectly understand that some rates may appear higher in Bora Bora compared to others countries, but French Polynesia is much appreciated as a secluded & protected chain of paradisiacal islands. This exceptional geographical situation has consequences: taxes are very high, transportation and all imported products are particularly expensive. Moreover, our resort is located on a Motu (small island) and the only possibility to access the hotel is by boat. In Bora Bora the shuttles are made by suppliers which charge the service to the guests. Also, we would rather take care of our guest upon their arrival than let them go to the resort via the main island. This way, we are sure we provide the best arrival experience possible. We sincerely hope you will give another opportunity to welcome you back very soon. Mauruuru roa, Stéphane Massarini, General Manager

Over the water bungalow

Posted Aug 13, 2017 on Hotels
Intercontinental BoraBora was a great resort to stay at! Spacious and clean bungalows, and excellent staff services. Restaurants inside the resort could make improvements on their menus. Overall it was our first over the water bungalow experience and we really liked it!

5 star location but food and food service 3 star

Posted Jul 26, 2017
Great location and lovely overwater bungalows but this 5 star resort is let down by poor food at the reef restaurant, poor food service, overpriced food and overpriced drinks. $45 breakfast buffet and $9 for a single scoop of ice cream - come on?!!

Beautiful setting

Posted Jul 16, 2017
Pros: The setting
Cons: Room needs to be refurbished. ~10 years old and it shows. Airport transportation should be reasonable or free.
We really enjoyed this hotel. The setting could not have been any better. Overwater bungalow with panoramic views was everything as described on website. The bungalow itself is a little dated. At 10 years old it needs refreshing especially for the price of the room. We found this hotel to be the most expensive on our month long vacation to the South Pacific. The boat transportation from the airport to the hotel was more than $270 for the round trip. The ride lasted 12-15 minutes. We thought this was unnecessary and extremely high for a service provided by the hotel.

Great experience staying at hotel

Posted Feb 24, 2017
Pros: Staff friendliness
Cons: Room air circulation, i.e. coolness, but I heard from the locals that a short time prior to my arrival, the hotel a/c system broke.
Location: Scuba diving and jet ski available on-site (fee) and hotel provides other water activities equipment (no fee).
The hotel is located outside of the mainland and requires a boat ride to and from. I really didn't mind this since I enjoyed being secluded. For the most part, it's a free boat ride that runs on a schedule, execpt around dinner time which will cost a fee. The boat will take you to the sister hotel (Le Moana) and outside of Le Moana there's an AVIS car rental, so you can rent a small car and drive around the island if you wanted. When you get to the main road for Le Moana, there's a convenience store a short walk away to get your knick-knacks. The expedia excursion I've done, picked me up directly from the hotel dock. Look for the happy hour time to drink up. If you are looking for recommendation on staying on mainland or ouside of it, I definitely preferred the outter islands. We happened to walk to the other side of the hotel where we could see the waves, you can't see that with staying on the mainland since the sorrounding water is very calm. Also, if you are traveling as a family, I would recommend staying mainland since there's a shuttle boat that will take you there for free and the boat rides can get costly.
