Family visit

This hotel is conveniently located to the bay area which has many good restaurants and shopping. There is a fishing pier 3 minutes away also with a nice gift shop and cafe. The hotel is very nice and the bed was very comfortable.

Won't do this again.

Very noisy room. Something banging in hall all night, heater sounded like a 747 taking off going off and on. Bed was uncomfortable.

Overbooked

I booked the hotel almost two weeks in advance. We have stayed at this hotel before and loved how clean it was and the convenience to downtown. However this trip was much less successful. When we arrived at the hotel (at midnight due to late travels) we were told they overbooked and moved us to a different holiday inn express ten minutes away. We were never called because we were told that Expedia doesn’t give phone numbers to the hotel. We only found out upon arrival. The hotel said they would pay for the room, but Expedia has already charged our credit card so we will now have to deal with that hassle. The whole experience was very frustrating. It’s a fine hotel, but the lack of communication was implorable.

A/C not working. Had to wait 1hr to get shifted.

Pros: Nothing
Cons: Understand Customer Service and go the extra mile.
Front desk staff were rude. I had to wait 1 hour before I was let known that my AC would not be fixed as there is no maintenance staff available for that day. I was told I will be provided with keys to another room. Another half an hour goes by. I call the front desk 10 times. No one answers. I go down and wait. This lady comes out in another 10 minutes and hands me keys. I asked what's going on, she says she was in rest room all this time and they don't have anyone else on site to get me my keys. I see Jason next to her but looks like he won't answer any of her calls in her absence even though the phone is right next to him. 10 calls to the front desk and no one answers? I lost my respect towards Holiday Inn. I will take my business to Hamilton Inn.

Great location, comfortable stay

Staff was great, very friendly and helpful. Our room was clean, and we were comfortable during our three-night, four-day stay. My husband and I were visiting Charleston, SC for the first time and chose this hotel because of the great reviews, and reasonable price. There is a hot breakfast that comes with your stay - they have coffee, bagels, eggs, sausage, bacon, the works. The saltwater pool was also pretty nice. A little small, but no complaints here! If you don't feel like driving down to the beaches, you'll have this as a lazy day option. Would recommend.
