Would not put out enough meat on breakfast bar, and had to continually ask both mornings. Was told out or low on stuff because mgr. had been gone for past few weeks. Also some people have issues with peppers and the secpnd morning the omelets that were served were the veggie no other option for eggs.
Last the way the whole thing is set up is ridiculous. You have the pancake maker right next to the juice machine so people are always in the way of each other while waiting for their pancakes. ( which are only slightly bigger than a fifty cent piece,)
This was a great place to stay in Custer, SD. The rates were very affordable and the room was very nice. We loved having a microwave and refrigerator so we could eat supper in our room at night since most places were closed due to it being Christmas Eve and Christmas Day. The bathroom was large and the bed was very comfortable. We love the large eating area with the fireplace. There were even recycle bins for our plastic containers. This felt like our home away from home for 4 days. It was fabulous. We will definitely stay here again.
We loved visiting South Dakota. This hotel has lovely grounds and a beautiful sitting/dining area with huge windows looking out on the hill behind. The room was clean, but the bathroom had hair in the corners on our arrival-these remained despite 2 additional days of room service. The breakfast had a lot of choices of cold and hot food. There was ample hot water for baths and showers. One thing to note was an almost constant sound of draining water the entire time we were there-loud enough to make it challenging to fall asleep. We could not figure out what that might be, but it sounded like pipes in the floor above us.
Overall our stay was good, with a few things that need to be addressed by management.
The staff were very nice. Wow factor when walking in, beautiful dining area.

I mistakenly booked this hotel thinking it accepted dogs. Clearly my error but it would have been nice it they did not charge me for the night. They were not nice and charged me. I guess won’t stay at a Holiday Inn. Too bad as I am a huge traveler.
Beautiful waterfall on property. Nice hot tub and pool. Breakfast was great the first day...great bacon. No bacon the other 3 days. Convenient to town, nice room with housekeeping every day.
Everything very good. Lighting in bathroom a little dim due to designer backlit mirror not directly illuminating face. But, highly recommend this HIE.
Too bad Custer doesn't have complete restaurants at which to eat. Just burgers and pizza.
