Great location

Posted Aug 19, 2015
Pros: Location, staff
Cons: More options at continental breakfast. pool and hot tub renovation/update
Location: Great location. walking distance to Kestone strip, wax museum, ziplining. 2 miles from Mt. Rushmore
I stayed here four nights with my two young boys. While the pool and the rec room are not updated, they provided enough entertainment for my boys when we weren't site seeing. The staff was very courteous. The continental breakfast didn't have much, but the pizza restaurant served great pizza. Unfortunately, that was all they served (though they did sell beer and wine to go, which was much needed after a long day with the boys). Overall, for a place to sleep and stop between sites, this was a good option.

Close to sight seeing parks

Posted Aug 19, 2015
Pros: It's close to great sight seeing treks.
Location: Mt. Rushmore, the Black Hills, and Custer State Park and not all that far from the Badlands!
It is a charming older hotel. When one opens the drapes in the morning, the sights are breath taking.

Road tripping

Parking was horrible, staff were pleasant, walls were paper-thin. Closeness to the park entrance is a plus. Breakfast was ok.

Old hotel with bandaide fix ups.

Posted Aug 16, 2015
Pros: The rooms were large
Cons: Do a truly renovation and not just bandaide fix ups. Eliminate the 1950s furniture that were Goodwill cast offs and no way nostalgic keepsakes.
Location: Right on the very busy highway. Very limited parking in front of the hotel but we were told to squeeze in and not go to the back hill of the hotel.
Instead of two single beds, there were two pull out single sleeper sofas from the 1950s. The photo showed large estate type hotel with charm. The actual was a pizza parlor as part of the main lobby on the busy main street junction. Very overprice for what we actually received.

Great Location

Posted Aug 5, 2015
Pros: Location
Cons: Some things were a little dated, but not worn out.
Great Location. Lots of shopping nearby. Alpine Slides next door were fun. Pizza, Indian Cuisine & Coffee all within short walking distance. Family room was spacious enough for two families. Had plenty of towels. Pool a little dated, but fun for the kiddos. Staff was courteous & knowledgeable. Included breakfast was just fine - biscuits & gravy were especially good. Condition of both rooms and bathroom appeared clean.

Unique hotel in charming Keystone.

Posted Aug 2, 2015
Our kids loved the loft and we loved the spaciousness in this hotel located right in the heart of this cute town. And it is only 2 miles from Mt. Rushmore. We would definitely stay here again.
