Decent hotel close to restaurants, highway

Pros: Clean, near businesses and highway.
Cons: Wi-Fi connections, air conditioner outdated and noisy.
Location: Good location, near businesses, restaurants, shopping, etc.
Room was clean, service was good but the Wi-Fi connections would not work which was one of the things I needed most. It cost me a lot of data on my phone. Also for the overall value I would say it was a bit pricey, I would give this particular hotel an ok rating at best.

business stop over

The room has the right amenities, and close to restaurants, The bed was uncomfortable, the towels thin and scratchy. The business next store pressure washes their parking lot at 3 in the morning so had awaken to that and heard if for a couple hours.

Very fine place to catch a traveling night's sleep

We were looking for a reasonably priced, comfortable place to spend a night on our trip across country. This was it, and was close to a couple of really fine restaurants.

What a Dump!

Pros: I was able to get a room.
Cons: The attitude of staff, condition of equipment (the TV), cleanliness, physical condition of room (wallpaper), physical condition of parking lot. more
Location: Good location off the interstate and near lots of eating places.
I was in the crowd of hoards of folks going to the eclipse in Southern Illinois. On my way back I was caught in the mother of all traffic jams. While miles away I went on the internet looking for a room. I booked this place. I was not far away in miles but all the roads were jammed up and it took hours to arrive. I guess I was lucky. I only paid double the normal room price. The local paper reported the next day motels were charging four or five times the normal rate. I guess all the hotels and motels in the area are into price gouging. Also I was lucky I booked as early as I did because they all filled up. While I was waiting to check in several people walked in looking for a room - any room. They were full. They probably regretted they didn't charge even more. The checkin was not fast or smooth. Then, I went to my room. The exterior lights were off and it was weird finding the room. The AC did work. The TV did not. Would not power up. When I went to the office they said they would get around to turning on the exterior lights but the fixer guy would check the TV tomorrow! The room! Pealing wallpaper. Mold in the bathroom. Combination shampoo and conditioner - sure it is! I would only come back in desparate times.

Basic hotel that work in a pinch

Pros: Had rooms during eclipse, but because it was the last resort. Pets are welcome
Cons: General basic improvements to the little things, like curtain rods.
Location: Smack in the middle of a bunch of other hotels and restaurants all in walking distance. Large convenience store across the street has all the basics
This is a two story motel and not a hotel. Entry to the rooms is from the outside. Handicapped access is only from the 1st floor. Simple rooms did have refrigerators, but our shower curtain rod was broken and the curtain did not close properly. Air conditioning was acceptable on a hot humid night.

Cancelled Our Reservation

I called ahead to let them know we would be checking in late, only to find out they did not have our reservation at all. They had no record of our conformation #. Not only after 3 hours on the phone trying to figure out what happened we ended up staying at a different hotel and Americas best charge me twice. For a room that they gave away and I never even stayed in. Not a good experience to say the least.

Hotel close to Eclipse Events

The only good thing about this hotel was the price and the availability for our trip to Carbondalle, Illinoise for the Eclipse Event! The room had a musty smell, especially the bed! I ate eggs for breakfast from there and my husband did not! I immediately got an intestinal attack! Just saying!! No elevator ! Very old facility and needs an update!

Cons: The room smelled of mildew and was not in good repair. The towels were so thin they must have been the cheapest they could find.
This was the only place with rooms still available for the night we needed. When we opened the door, we were hit with a strong smell of mildew. The room was poorly lit and the towels were the thinnest I have ever seen. I asked if we could change rooms and the manager just said, we are all booked and waved her hand at me. She showed no concern about making us comfortable or doing anything to help. It was a replusive.
