not bad for the price

Posted Sep 29, 2017
Pros: huge bed, nice, fairly large tv with plenty of channels IMO, affordable, free candy at front desk, rare sighting of a drinking fountain in a hotel
Cons: cleanliness: floor felt odd and darkened the feet a bit. one of my channels showed the security cameras in the lobby/hall, not terrible but creepy.
Location: Kind of in the middle of nowhere. Evansville is 10 minutes away so not bad, a lot to do there.. oh! and there's a car dealership next door! FUN!
Not too bad for the price. Better than the Motel 6 in Evansville. The floor (and maybe bed) felt a little dirty. The bottom of my feet were darkened a little bit. The bed was huge! roughly 6' x 6'6". The TV was a pretty good size too with probably about 30-35 channels. Only a ten minute drive from the west side of Evansville. I always notice that almost all hotels don't even have drinking fountains and I have to drink from the sink, but not this one! There was a small spread for breakfast, as advertised, but it was limited (cereal, oatmeal, bagels, toast, coffee, cookies, etc. Nothing hot.)

Only choice in town...

Posted Aug 24, 2017 on Hotels
This was just an unpleasant room. I hate "every other day housekeeping", and the room itself felt like it was so full of cleaning chemicals and moisture that I dd not enjoy my time here. The front desk staff was fine, and if given other choices in town, I would have taken them.

some good, some bad.

Pros: Desk hospitality; quality of the room with a proper mattress. Easy access; good price; nice light breakfast available early (430am).
Cons: Adequate and timely staff attention to room updates during stay.
Location: Wondrous ice cream and pizza shop 'downtown' by the river; close to New Harmony for history; 50 miles from trails in Shawnee Nat Forest.
Friendly front desk - willing to cancel one of our 3 rooms without charge. Rooms appeared well-kept and clean. However in one room a very comfortable bed made up well. In the other room a mattress in which every spring could be felt, and the bottomsheet rested directly on the plastic mattress- no mattress pad. That bed was the worst I've ever noted in a hotel/motel EVER. We were away travelling from 5a to 3p the full day of our 2-night stay. Upon return dirty towels still in bathroom; trash cans full, no coffee. Staff unable to tend to room because so busy preparing rooms for new customers. So clearly understaffed. Front desk helped us get things sorted out! Nice breakfast; excellent delivery by local Domno's pizza; good hospitality though staff stretched it seems. We'd go there again though perhaps with caution. Price not bad - really pretty good deal, at least for the room with the better bed!!

Excellent Customer Service

The front desk manager was excellent. We booked online and when I called to confirm our reservation I asked about a ground floor room for disabled. They were sold out, but when we arrived he had switched us to a ground floor room. We ended up staying a second night because of his warm hospitality. It's a no grills hotel, but the service was great.

Just plain dirty everywhere.

Posted Aug 22, 2017 on Hotels
My room had a strong combined odor of cigarette smoke and mildew. Bathroom floor was not clean. Bed sheets were not very clean, there was small blood stain on one pillow case. Carpet was not clean, and needed badly to be replaced. Even the chairs in the lobby were stained.
