Loved the style and staff service. Even if the hotel is in a more remote area there are few things to do around. The helicopter scenic flights from the hotel is definitely unique service.

Highly recommend Hippo Hollow Hotel.
Hippo Hollow was a excellent hotel. Staff was amazing and provided excellent customer service. We stayed 8 nights and after the first day, they knew what drinks we wanted and other preferences. We stayed in a delectable chalet and the room the beautiful, but the view was the best part. We saw elephant and hippos everyday. Wonderful location, 15 min drive to Kruger. Restaurant was delicious.

Excellent place to stay.Close to the Kruger Park.
We were pleasantly surprised. The hotel is beautiful and the room comfortable. The staff was friendly and helpful. The food in the restaurant was excellent and the service we received was superb. Every member of the staff went out of their way to make matters more pleasant for us. The one lady in the restaurant,Martha, was a star.She quickly noticed that my wife and I were older people (well on our way to our eighties) and she insisted that we remain at our table whilst she dished up for us. She is an asset for the hotel. The security man at the main entrance was also a very helpful and friendly man. We can recommend this establishment to all and everybody. We'll be back

Nice and handy place
Very handy place for a stopover en route to Kruger. Nice room, friendly staff. Lovely bar overlooking river and hippos. Fun and safe.

Kruger Park Short Stay
Quality 3 star short stay establishment . This is a decent basic hotel. It's good for a 2 or 3 night stay while visiting Kruger Park or the Hazyview area. It's clean, safe and convenient. The rooms/décor are outdated but in good condition. Restaurant is nice with good service and good food and variety. The hippo comes out by the lake 7 -8 pm each night during dinner

when we arrived at Hippo Hollow we got quite a warm welcome only to find out that the reason was that they had over booked and we were the unlucky couple and was told that we had to move to Perry Bridge Hollow. We were told that the reason was a systems error. This is a really bad reflection on your website. I will think twice before using the application to book. I was wondering which friend or family member received my room at Hippo Hollow. What was done was ethically wrong. I am not sure what the rates are and whether we paid extra to stay at Perry Bridge Hollow. I will think twice before I go to any Seasons in Africa Hotel. I wanted to stay at Hippo Hollow not another establishment.

Our reservations department tried to get hold of you before you checked in but failed to do so. We then complimentary upgraded you to Perry's Bridge Hollow which is a 4 star property whilst Hippo Hollow is only rated a 3 star. As advised on check in, our system crashed which caused us to loose all our reservations. We had to recapture all the bookings and our availability on our online sites got effected therefor we were fully booked and we unfortunately had to move you to Perry's Bridge Hollow. Great location with hippo viewing
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay with very friendly, warm staff focussed on providing you with an optimal stay and experience of the area. We had a river view chalet which we highly recommend as you can hear and view the hippos some nights and it is very private and peaceful.

Decent hotel
Hotel was good. The rooms were clean and housekeeping was done daily. However, one complaint which I had was that they never replenished drinking water in the rooms. We always had to go and remind them. Another important thing missing was the intercom. If you need service, you need to walk up to the reception. Staff is courteous and helpful.

Very satisfied about this ideal base
Stayed at Hippo Hollow while exploring Kruger and the Panoramic Route by car. The room was very comfortable, the location was easy to find and convenient, and the food was surprisingly good at the restaurant, especially the breakfast. The hotel does get large tour buses, and we found some of the tour group customers disruptive a few times during our stay, but that was not the fault of the hotel. There really are hippos on the property! There is also a nice gift shop on the premises.

Holiday stay at Hippo Hollow resort
We had a nice stay at the hotel. The rooms are big and comfortable (although a terras would have been welcome). We received by a friendly staff who was waiting for us with keys and with all explanations of the hotel. The service was friendly and helpful. The restaurant is OK and the breakfast is good. One point though: we made twice a reservation for the diner, but it never reached the responsible of the restaurant. Not a big deal as there was place enough to accommodate us.

Convenient hotel in Hazyview
We were on our way to a reserve further north in Kruger, so this was just a one night stay. Everything about the hotel was fine. We even saw hippos on the lawn while eating dinner! The hotel caters for groups. A group staying while we were there were quite noisy, but we were tired enough that we slept through the nose anyway.

Hippo Hollow review
My son were there for one night only. We took advantage of the cultural dinner. The dancing and singing was quite good. The buffet was good as well, with cultural choices such as worms, but also typical food such as salads, chicken, beef and lamb.

Great hotel to relax and enjoy the area.
This hotel really was a good value. Nice large well decorated chalets that offer charm, privacy and luxury all in one. The grounds are gorgeous, the pool is sublime, and the lodge is nice to eat, drink or work. The food was great for the money, which was not expensive and pretty tasty for a lodge out here. The service is top notch, and they try hard to please. Close by, like 3 min walk, is shops, cafes, tours, and a few minutes more a new mall with a grocery...allowing you to make use of the outdoor grill on your patio, or, the kitchen fully stocked.

We had a lovely stay at the Hippo Hollow Country Estate. The pool was a nice temperature and clean - perfect for a sunset dip after a long drive. The breakfast had all you'd want and is served with a nice view of the river. Try to get there by 6 pm before sunset so you can take a quick walk along the river side and potentially see hippos and crocs. We didn't see hippos this time but did see a baby croc. Staff also was helpful in giving directions.

Hippo Hollow chalet #2
I just returned from a 4 day stay at Hippo Hollow May 23-26 and it was fantastic- we saw Hippos grazing out in the river and in the lawn as we ate our dinner two different nights. Wonderful staff, restaurant and facility- 15 minutes to the Kruger gate for safaris and walking distance (500 yards) to shops and restaurants. My wife and I stayed in a river chalet (#2) and it was great! The only caution I have for anyone in a chalet is that there is no TV in the room if that is important to you, however I think it adds to the experience of being at this beautiful setting.

It was a good stay on the whole, but the accommodation could do with some spring cleaning in the loft where they had put two extra beds for the kids. Since it is a 'grass' roof, the shavings were over the bed and there were cobwebs as well and a cockroach in the bedding. Most people would not need to use this area, so you can ignore this if so. The downstairs or main area of the room was great and the staff was very good and moved a mattress down for the kids. On the whole I would recommend the place.

A bit tired and in need of a revamp
I booked a double bed for a romantic weekend getaway and was allocated a room with 2 twin beds instead. The floors in the room had not been mopped and were sandy. The 2 mats on either side of the bed were filthy and in drastic need of a wash! No bath robes or slippers are provided in the room so remember to take your own! The bath towels on both days smelt from not having been dried properly and were probably folded away while still damp causing them to smell. The breakfast was mediocre and nothing to rave about. The breakfast room which has been extended is in desperate need of a paint job as it is full of dusty spider webs. This is an establishment which is run by employees and mostly aimed at overseas visitors who perhaps do not have high expectations of accommodation facilities in Africa. Not once did I see or meet the manager, there was no welcome note, no personal touch to make guests feel welcome. I doubt I will ever go back again! Very dissappointed as a fellow South African to see that this is what our overseas visitors are subjected to.

The location was very convenient for touring the Panorama Route. "God's Window" was clouded in when we went to visit, but we were able to get up in the morning and drive back to see the beautiful view due to Hazyview being a close distance. We rented a two story loft. The upstairs loft didn't appear to have been cleaned in a long time. There were no screens on the windows and no mosquito nets. Insects weren't biting, but they were buzzing about. The back deck looking over the river did make the hotel worth staying at. There were hippos and a large number of birds we were able to view.

Amazing place, but completely helpless people.
The place is really amazing and is located in a really good area. Also the people that works there is really nice, but they were completely helpless since the very beginning. I've mailed them to ask them if they can help me to arrive and if they could help me with some tours options but they never answer. Once we arrived, every tour we booked trough them was tricky (with the price, if lunch was included or not, etc.) and when we asked them to look for us a shuttle to our next destination, they didn't make a big effort to help us either. I still think that being such a luxury and expensive accommodation, It's unforgivable that they have not taken care of us properly, but if you are able to managed by yourself, 100% recommendable.

Een goed hotel op prima lokatie
Mooie kamer met mooi uitzicht, jammer dat er geen tv aanwezig was maar verder prima. Prima restaurant, goed verzorgd ontbijt en goede menu kaart. Prima tips gekregen wat te doen in de directe omgeving.

Calm resort style lodge
Nicely situated on a river bank and quite close to the southern part of Kruger. We stayed for one night on our way from JNB to a tented camp close to Skukuza. The food and service was good thru-out. The only dispointment was that I (with certainty) forgot a pair of binoculars on the room. When we went back to the hotel. No one seemed to remember having seen it.
