Severin Sea Lodge

"Breakfast was amazing with great variety, delicious with fresh & healthy choices. The hotel grounds are well maintained. Security is very good, direct access to a private beach. The seafront walk after meals is simply breathtaking. The service by the entire staff team was exceptional, their thoughtfulness beat our imagination, trustworthy team. If time had allowed us we would have extended our stay, however the good thing is that we intend to return to Mombasa and stay at the same hotel. Of special mention is Eric - head of security, Emily and Maria at reception, Charles & Francis maintenance staff, who all added to the wonderful experience. Unable to mention everyone aside being grateful to every staff who attended to us. Please keep the excellent service up."

"I have stayed at the Serena several times over the past 20 years. In fact, of the 80 countries I have visited the Serena in Mombasa is still my favorite place in the world. The staff, including front dest staff (namely, Althuman) and the wait staff are outstanding. Many are long-term staff who have obviously been well-trained in customer service. The Maisha Spa is always worth a visit. The property is beginning to show signs of aging so I hope there are plans to upgrade it, while not loosing its Swahili Coast charm. I have been a fan for a long time and will be back again!"

"Even as a family of 5 we found our 3 bedroom sea view apartment to be extremely spacious and well-equipped, with en-suite shower rooms to the 2 twin bedrooms and both a dressing area and en-suite bathroom with separate shower to the master bedroom - there was also a full-sized kitchen, lounge, dining area, laundry room, separate WC and huge balcony with outside dining and seating areas. The room and hotel in general were well maintained by Kenyan standards and very clean - the only drawback was the intermittent hot water which is a common occurrence in the whole country. The breakfast offered a good choice of food and drinks, as did the 24hr room service menu, both of which were of good quality and value for money - however there is no alcohol available. The service was very friendly, although at times a little slow. We also ate at a couple of local restaurants but there isn’t a wide range to choose from - there are also limited services (ie shops) nearby. The pool is very spacious with very helpful attendants - however more sun-loungers are needed. The location is about 45 minutes from the airport and the centre of Mombasa but there are plenty of Uber drivers to drive you around."

"Mu family had a lovely time at the hotel. They got an upgrade and the relationship manager was so helpful. They enjoyed the amenities and loved the food. The staff were friendly and good memories were created. I would highly recommend."

Sheratton Regency Hotel

"The internet was sluggish and kept disconnected, I was in the furthest corner room though. The breakfast was decent indian flavor mild spicy... The A/C worked fabulously. I checkedin after 9:30pm easily and was escorted to my room and the steward made sure everything worked. I was a bit troubled as there was no latch to the door on the inside... Night club on ground floor had music loud enough to be carried into the fifth floor but didn't stop me from sleeping."
