Good location but small and noisy street side room

The photo attached to the single room I reserved online was not of the single standard room I got when I arrived. Their standard rooms are tiny, face a very busy street, with several bus stops along the street. Cigarette smoke from the street carries into the room if you open the window. The shower stall has standing room only, even for a slender person. The carpet was old and dirty. They don't provide irons, you have to take clothes down to a ironing room, which is a large bathroom with an ironing board on the first floor to iron your clothes. My room was on the third floor. No breakfast with a standard room. Price for my four nights was about $120 per night. I think you can find a better place at this rate in Munster.

A single standard room for example always faces the street and has a 90 cm bed. Please let us know when something is not to your liking. We would have loved to offer you an alternative room since we have five different categories. In hotels in the city center, an ambient noise is inevitable. For your convenience, we therefore invested in a quadruple glazing. With an individually controlled air conditioning, you can regulate the interior climate to your liking. If this soundproofing is not enough for you, please use the provided ear plugs in the wardrobe. We ask for your understanding that we do not provide irons in the room for security and insurance reasons. We hope you give us another chance and send greetings from Hotel Kaiserhof Münster!

Hotel Kaiserhof

Pros: Although it is within close proximity to a major Train Station, area is quite
Cons: The size of the shower is small. Ok if your only 5' like me
Location: Bike rentals are close, excellent source of transportation, easy to get around
The hotel staff was extremely helpful with travel arrangements via Train, of which is within walking distance from the hotel, in addition to many restaurants and shopping. I highly recommend this hotel

OK but

This is a beautiful property with a caring staff in a great location but. The safe is too small; it will not hold a laptop. There is a short step into the bathroom. If you get up at night you will either trip or stub a toe - not a good design and finally the mirror in the bathroom is set behind a ledge and is blocked by either the sink of toilet so you really can't get close to it. Otherwise the hotel is fine. The room we had was quiet and spacious with a good HVAC. I would really have liked this hotel but for a 4-5 star hotel the annoyances should not have been there. I should also add the internet was fast and free but required too much signing in- it should have been easier

Internet down, charges up

In town as a journalist to cover the opening of an international art event and completely sidelined by the inoperable wifi. Some nickel-and-diming over small things. No acknowledgement from staff. Both episodes leave a bad impression. Too bad because the building itself is nice and in an extremely convenient location to both the Bahnhof and central Münster.

Excellent Hotel - 10 Out of 10

This is a lovely hotel, beautifully appointed and very conveniently located for the station and also the Flix bus stop which we had used. The staff spoke good English and were more than helpful - especially when I had a problem with mobile telephone numbers in Holland and Germany. Would love go stay there again.

Very disappointing

Cons: Customer service, providing guests with basic necessities, room comfort.
I was very disappointed with my stay at this hotel. The location of the hotel is very convenient. The room was basic and you only heard faint noise from the street. There was no separate shower, instead, part of the bathtub was sectioned off by a glass panel to be able to stand in it to take a shower. There was no iron and ironing board. The "curtains" on the windows were several plastic panes that let the light through were they would not overlap well. What surprised me was that there were no little samples whatsoever. I was okay with there not being a shampoo sample, etc. but I needed some q-tips, and a piece of cotton. I figured it was a mistake and asked about it at the desk. I was told by the front desk that they would bring me some, but that never happened. When I mentioned that at check-out, I was told that I had booked through Expedia, so those necessities "weren't part of the room rate" (!). I was so displeased with the room overall, and having to go shop for basic necessities, that I decided to check out a day early. The man I interacted with at check-out was incredibly rude and unprofessional. I have never seen anything like it. Also, while I expected that I would be charged for the night I would miss, I noticed later that they charged me for the rollaway bed that would go unused. I guess that if they save money on q-tips, it shouldn't come as a surprise that they would do that. Do yourself a favor and stay elsewhere - I sure will!

Our 100 rooms offer either a shower or a bathtub. For reasons of environmental protection we decided to install dispensers for shampoo, shower gel and body lotion instead of individual samples. It was a misunderstanding that q-tips and cottons are not included in your room rate. These products are not in the bathroom in our standard and superior category but only in our deluxe rooms and suites. Of course it is possible to order some free of charge. Unfortunately we made a mistake and did not bring them to your room when you ordered them because we served other guests and forgot about it. We are very sorry for that. There is no iron and ironing board in the room. As we proposed to you, you could either use our laundry room or have us iron your clothes. You decided to use our service. We are very sorry that you were displeased with our service quality – something most of our guests highly praise. Since you checked out in the late evening, we could not rent the room to another person and charged the rollaway bed. As a gesture of goodwill we will refund the 20 euros. Please contact our front desk manager Mrs. Susanne Quaas via e-mail at buchhaltung@kaiserhof-muenster.de (please mention your booking number). Nice Hotel close to train station

Pros: Very nice in every aspect.
Location: 5 minutes walk from the train station and close to restaurants and shopping.
We needed to add two beds and the staff was very nice to accommodate our request. Very quiet at night.
