Friendly HotelPosted Apr 19, 2015
The staff make a big difference. They are very friendly and helpful. This is a very good 2 star hotel and the price is right. I stayed in a single room which had ample space. Air con worked well and there were ample English language TV stations - movie and news channels. The breakfast was good - recommend the scrambled eggs and omelettes. Shower room takes a while to get used to - no enclosure so everything gets wet. I would stay there again.

Close to train station, quiet at nightPosted Mar 17, 2015
Pros: Breakfast staff, options for breakfast
Cons: Update the bathrooms a bit
Location: Walking distance to Grant Road train station
The owner and staff were all friendly, the room was clean enough, the AC and fan were effective, and the breakfast food was great.

OverpricedPosted Oct 12, 2014
Pros: Not much - location is okay.
I have stayed in numerous hotels throughout India, including several in Mumbai. This hotel - for the price - is a bad deal. Funky small rooms, old furniture, a thin foam mattress, etc.

A Good, Quiet Location.Posted Nov 12, 2013
Pros: It is quiet, well located, with a nice breakfast and very comfortable beds.
Cons: The staff, once shown that tips were possible, sought these with all the rigour and verve of a wasp at a picnic. Our room's toilet and AC broke, too.
Location: A walk to Chowpatty Beach is easy and pleasing, as is Malibar Hill and the central bazaars nearby. Really, the best thing to do is aimlessly wander.
The location of this hotel is terrific - within easy reach of the tourist areas but not on top of them (Colaba is not walkable, but only 80 rupees or so in a cab). The rooms, too, are incredibly quiet at night, with a peaceful garden facing the rooms in the second building. I would recommend that location if offered. Included in the price is also a cute buffet breakfast, which is hardly extensive but nice enough to grab some coffee and toast on the roof each morning. The staff are helpful enough, though a little over-zealous at times, and on the tip hunt. Another negative from our stay was that the AC and toilet broke within seconds of our arrival. We got used to this, but I would expect better for a hotel which attempts to be as professional as HKC. Overall, however, I would recommend this hotel to anyone travelling to Mumbai for the first time.

Small hotel in MumbaiPosted Mar 11, 2013
Location: Slightly hidden
The hotel is slightly hidden on a busy road in Mumbai. Our room was small but contained all necessities you would expect for such a hotel. Cleanliness could be improved and the bathroom did not have a window but just wooden blinds.

Good deal for areaPosted Jan 29, 2013
This was a reasonable Indian hotel. Nothing particularly special. The wifi worked well, and the breakfast buffet was adequate. It was a good deal for Mumbai, where a lot of hotels seemed to be very expensive in the area.
