Staff mean well but fail to follow simple instructions, need to be told repeatedly if you want something to be done.Perhaps it is the culture expect to be tipped before anything can be done properly the first time.All staff expecting to be tipped all the time is a nightmare . A very good idea is to tip at the end of your stay, like a hotel in Kumarakom. You put a decent amount in an envelope and leave in a central box,this is then shared out among all staff at the property . The restaurants and food at this hotel was very good.The hotel needs updating.
