Elegant Old Europe

Posted Jul 16, 2016
Beautiful hotel, feels like an elegant European home. Staff so kind and helpful, justifiably proud of their property and service. Best breakfast ever! Location is perfect for seeing the sights of Munich. No air conditioning but big windows open and ceiling fans kept us comfortable. We look forward to staying there again!

Good Munich hotel

Posted Jul 3, 2016 on Hotels
Stayed for a night before flying out from Munich. close to centre of town. Not good for parking - hopefully hotel finishes renovating its carpark. Great continental breakfast. Room lacks AirCon so can be hot. Keeping window open means city noise.

The Admiral

Posted May 12, 2016 on Hotels
The Admiral Hotel is an older hotel and we enjoyed our stay. It is very well maintained the only negative was that there was no air-condition. This wasn't a problem on this trip as the nights were cool. The hotel is beautifully decorated with antiques. The breakfast is superb. I have never seen such beautiful place settings. All of the table linens are crisp and snow white.

This is not a 4 star hotel

Posted Jan 25, 2016
Pros: The breakfast- truly magnificent with great variety and quality of items! So if you want to stay in a dump but have a great breakfast stay here!
Cons: Tear the hotel down and build a modern facility.
Location: Great location, walking distance to old town - many other more modern hotels within a few blocks, so i encourage you to look for those
Another hotel putting stunning pictures on their web site to attract guests - only to shock them with the grim reality upon their arrival. This is at most a 2 star hotel, with very small rooms, horriblly basic old furniture from the 1970's, dirty old carpets, tiny bathroom - nothing to match the pictures. This place needs a MAJOR refurbishment and should stop trying to deceive clients on the web site - it always backfires I know this city very well - there are many other hotels right in this neighborhood, all more modern and for similar price. Stay there.

Located within a reasonable walking distance of the old town. Hotel is old but kept clean. Front desk staff was kind and helpful. TV only had German language channels.

Cons: Include breakfast in the cost.
Location: About a 10-15 min walk to Marienplatz and many tourist destinations. Very Close to the Deutsches Museum, a great unique museum experience.
Stayed 2 nights in November. The hotel and staff were very nice. Price seemed a bit high for what you got. It would have been nice to have breakfast included.

Location is better than when you view on a map

I stayed for two nights. The hotel is about a 5 minute walk to the Marienplatz near the Glockenseil. There is a really nice market that you walk through that you miss if you stayed on the other side. The room was nice. It is dated, but that is part of the charm and enhanced by older decorations. The breakfast was really nice with fruit, meats, cheeses and cereals. Coffee and juices. There only a few rooms and the people at the desk are really friendly.
