Nice hotel close to Marienplatz & Karlsplatz Stn

Posted Jul 28, 2017
Nice place to stay close to shopping, restaurants and walkable to many attractions. Clean rooms. Quiet even though we faced the street. The restaurant was good, enjoyed the outdoor dining. My husband and I stayed in a room with two single beds put together which was fine but could have used one king size blanket instead of two twin comforters.

Dear Anonymous, Once again, thank you for rating us so kindly here and on tripadvisor. We are happy that you enjoyed your stay in our anna hotel, as well as the dim sums on our terrace. And yes, I agree that the home made sauces really offer a nice variety of finely spiced tastes. The bedding you refer to is actually the typical German matrimonial bed, but I have left a note for your future stays that a kingsize bed with one continuous blanket suit you better. We hope you had a safe and good onward journey and would love to welcome you anew on your next visit to Munich. Kind regards, Isabelle Hein (Quality Manager) and the team of the anna hotel by Geisel

Great hotel close to the train station.

Posted Jul 17, 2017
Pros: Best mattress I have slept on in a long time. Slept like a baby all night and woke up refreshed. The staff were extremely friendly and knowledgeable.
Cons: Elevators are tiny yet functional.
Location: Take a walk down the Neuhauser Strasse to the Marienplatz. A beer and meat lovers paradise can be found at the Viktualienmarkt or the Hofbrauhaus.
Love Munich. Very easy access to the Anna hotel from the train station. The secret to getting to the hotel from the train station is to go underground, under the Bahnhofplatz and surface at the Shutzenstrasse. From there it is a short walk to the Anna.

Nice Hotel in an ideal but noisy location

Posted Jun 6, 2017
Our stay was marred by a mix-up in our reservation. We paid for a deluxe room on the sixth floor with a "Tea Deck," but were told at check-in there were no such rooms? And that in any case, all the rooms on the sixth floor were booked during our two-week stay. I pointed out that my confirmed Expedia reservation included a "deluxe room with a "Tea Deck." The clerk made a copy of my reservation, but then still put us in a small noisy room at the back of the hotel on a lower floor without a deck. The next day, we complained bitterly to Expedia about the mix-up, and they were prepared to move me to a new hotel. However, we only wanted them to make good on what we had paid for, or refund the difference. For a two-week stay, this was an actual difference of about $1500. But forgetting that ours was a two week stay, I mistakingly told Expedia the difference was only $800, which they quickly refunded. The next day we were moved to a slightly larger and quieter room, making our stay tolerable. Although we had a great time in Munich, the mix-up understandably left a very bad taste in our mouths. To add insult to injury, the next day a smaller room on the sixth floor with a deck, did become available, but the hotel wanted us to pay an extra $50 per night for it. We politely declined. To be fair about it, I think that minus the mix-up and the noise, the Ana Hotel is probably one of the finer hotels in the area.

Dear Herb and Sveta, Thank you for sharing your experience of our anna hotel online. I am very sorry this misunderstanding of the different room types between Teakdeck rooms and Upper Deck / Panorama Rooms caused you so much sorrow. As we have only very few rooms on the 6th floor with private terraces, we promote them only in direct sales. Their rate is officially 50€ more than the rate for the Teakdeck rooms. Our Teakdeck is the 5th floor, on which both of the rooms you occupied were in are located. Those rooms are bigger than the standard design rooms, have Teak parquet and due to the height a better view and less noise. Nonetheless we are very happy about your mention that apart from this misunderstanding you consider our anna hotel one of the finer hotels of Munich. We truly hope you had a pleasant vacation altogether as well as a good onward journey and would be happy to welcome you anew at any time. Sincerely, Isabelle Hein (Quality Manager) and the team of the anna hotel

Dear Anonymous, Thank you for the positive rating of our anna hotel. Whilst it is nice to see you loved the location and the cleanliness of your room, the need for renovation comes a bit as a surprise. I’d love to learn more on that, as well as on what you mean by “stuff is very unhelped at least” on i.hein@geisel-privathotels.de I look forward to your answer and remain with best regards, Isabelle Hein (Quality Manager) and the team of the anna hotel

Honeymoon trip

Posted Apr 18, 2017 on Hotels
Great hotel in city center- close to all kinds of restaurants and shopping. Walking distance to Marienplatz. Wonderful staff very friendly front desk reception. Parking is a bit of a trip since there is no direct parking on the lot. Only bad thing was the doors slam when they close- it doesn't sound bad when yours does it but when someone else's door slams while you are sleeping the whole wall shakes. Otherwise quiet and beautiful hotel!

Wake up Munich

Posted Apr 2, 2017 on Hotels
Munich was boring and lacked night life. Maybe it was the time of the year but will definitely not visit during March again. People need to live and lighten up. As for Anna hotel good quality for the money paid. Friendly staff made my stay in Munich worth while.

Dear Mustafa, Thank you for this good evaluation and nice words on our hotel and staff. Whilst I am happy you enjoyed your stay in our hotel, I am sorry you found the night life and party scene unexciting. Maybe another visit in May for the Streetlife festival or June for the celebration of the city foundation, or of course during the Oktoberfest would give you another impression of our people. We would love to welcome you soon again and remain until then with best greetings from Munich, Isabelle Hein (Quality Manager) and the team of the anna hotel

Perfect Location

Anna hotel was perfect for everything we were looking to have access to on our short trip to Munich. The location was right in the middle of everything and walking distance to the main train station. No complaints at all and I would definitely stay there again!
