Great location, walking distance to multiple attractions. The breakfast buffet was very convient also.

Great hotel, 5 mins walking from town center

Pros: Clean, friendly staff, nice room, free wifi, good breakfast
Location: 5 minutes from the heart of Munich, which is home to lots of Biergartens, shopping and beautiful churches.
I stayed here with two friends on our recent weekend trip to Munich. We are students, and the price was perfect for our budget. The hotel staff were extremely friendly, allowing us to check-in a few hours early as our room was ready. The room was clean and had more than enough room. The hotel gives a complimentary breakfast, which was a large array of food and absolutely wonderful. Additionally, the hotel is located 5 mins from the center of town walking, which meant at the end of our trip we did not have to factor in the expense of cab rides. Overall, a great experience!

Close to the center of town

Pros: they offer a very complete breakfast
Cons: The fact that it is so dim. It would be good to do a fix up and somehow make it look a bit happier or brighter. Plus of course helping customers
Location: Location seemed good. Near the center of Munich.
The hotel is good for young travelers or any travelers that are on a budget. I booked it because of its good price and how it looked based on the pictures I saw on Expedia.com. I was quite sick when we stayed in the hotel with a swimming fever. The desk staff was unable to even locate an open pharmacy to tell my husband where to go And get some Tylenol. Luckily a nice old man walked with my husband to the nearest pharmacy and they read on the window which pharmacy in the entire city was open. What bothered me most is that the staff was of no help at all. They couldn't even find the one open pharmacy in Munich know were they interested in looking it up for us as we do not know German. The rooms felt very stuffy and we didn't want to put anything on the couch because it seemed very dusty.

Excellent Service and Facilities

Changed to this hotel from a nearby one which was unsatisfactory. Welcoming and accomodating staff made our stay stress free. The facilities and breakfast were perfect.

Have to say had great stay here staff were lovely really helpful the breakfast was fabulous great selection free tea and coffee until 6am overall the service from staff was excellent and would definitely stay here again and city centre was only 10 mins walk

Comfy and Good Eats, close to city center

The Carat was modern, comfy & convenient. It's a 3 minute walk to the Sendlinger Tor Subway stop--use the Lindwurmstrasse exit (stay underground to avoid the busy intersection). There is also a pharmacy close by. Marienplatz is within reasonable walking distance. It was a straight shot from the subway stop/the actual Sendlinger Tor & took approximately ten minutes through a busy shopping street. There was free coffee until 6 o'clock that you could also take to-go. The hotel has a small, cozy bar in the lobby that seemed to be open quite late. The breakfasts were divine. Plenty of options--eggs, all types of sausages, bacon, fresh-squeezed OJ, a variety of cheeses & meats, savories, fruit salads, breads, homemade jams, natural honeys, etc. The dining room, while intimate, was pleasant & the staff was always so kind. We would go again just for the yummy, hearty breakfast. The front desk was always manned & the staff was always friendly & helpful. The beds were comfortable, and the bathroom was large and had spotless white tile from ceiling to floor. There was also a little foyer, which provided more space in the main room. There were plenty of outlets in the room to help us charge our various devices. There was a convenient space for suitcases under a high shelf in the room. The kitchenette (a mini fridge, stovetop, sink, & pots and dishes) came in handy when we heated up our leftover Christmas Market soup. We felt comfortable, safe, welcome & well fed. Cons: No towel warming rack
Great breakfast, clean room, very helpful staff. Ten minute walk to train station, Christmas Markets. Good Vietnamese restaurant within 2 blocks.

The staff at the hotel were so friendly and helpful. Being from Scotland we don't know much German but they all spoke very good English which was great. The rooms are very well priced however could use a bit of updating
