Reasonably priced hotel but let down by staff

Checked in okay, but initial impression was uncompromising staff. Seem to be met with an almost no feedback to request which seem poor in hospitality industry especially as i'm UK based.
Requested extra night, paid but changed my mind on last night and decided to check out 1 day early. Hotel staff again were uncompromising on refunds. I was told unless the room is resold, I wont get my money back fullstop. Stand-off-ish it seems but I had to leave anyway and didnt care less of the loss. Called in next day but told my room wasnt sold so definately "no refund". Seemed expected though! No one seem to check if your facilities are okay or you're enjoying your stay. Breakfast is basic cold meal and poor for value @ £7 per night..
If you're happy to just walk in a hotel check in and dont bother if anyone cares about your stay, then this might suit you. My feedback to management there; train staff to be more customer friendly, accommodation selling isnt all about getting your rooms filled but leaving an impression on guest as they might frequent Munich and use your hotel as a regular hub! No Danke from me on this one, sorry!

Dear guest, nowhere in the world you can cancel a room the same day free of charge ( except they have plenty of empty ones available ). I will follow your advice to train my staff in future to invite all guests, accomodation free of charge.
