We stayed here because it was the only hotel in the area that was available 2 nights in a row & there's a reason for that. It's a mile walk from the main tourist area, which isn't that far, but it's a pain to walk back and forth if, like us, you like a rest mid-day. There's no restaurant on site, despite the sign saying there is - it was closed about a year ago. There is only one restaurant within a quarter mile - Fellini's, thank goodness it was good.
Everyone we spoke with on the property was very friendly and helpful, but follow-through was lacking. The evening before we left, we requested at reception the hotel shuttle take us to the train station at a certain time the next morning. The next morning, they hadn't been notified & weren't available & a taxi had to be called last minute.
The room was lacking as well. The tile floor was layed unevenly and there are many areas where the corners of tiles catch your bare feet. The light switches are located in the headboard, so when you sit up to read, you accidentally turn the light on/off. In addition, I found a broken fingernail on one of the duvets, and there was hair on the vanity and floor of the bathroom.
Last, there is a bar at the hotel, but it is obviously not well attended. We brought down a bottle of wine to be opened, & it took the bartender almost 10 minutes to locate the bottle opener.
Unfortunately, the friendliness and generosity of the staff just doesn't make up for the rest.
