It's a beautiful hotel with amazing views of the surrounding area. Being built on top of an historic Medieval fort just adds to the amazing location and experience.

Great staff with brilliant service at reception and in the restaurant/cafe. Shower was dated and tray did not drain. Otherwise a fantastic venue and stay with spectacular views. Would highly recommend.

Unfortunately this could have been a very good stay but the customer service reply to a disappointing breakfast lets it down. The room was nice but some things are aging e.g. the handle in the shower is super wobbly. At breakfast, which isn't cheap at nineteen per head, I asked for just a plate of scrambled eggs (the self-serve buffet is only cold or ambient food), and after 27 minutes I ask if the eggs on the trolley of food coming out is mine and was told it was for another table - the server pointing at the table of 10 which arrived after I had asked for the eggs. It should not take so long for eggs to come. I sent an email to the hotel to explain my experience and was told: "We are so sorry to hear about your experience at breakfast. We will forward your complaint to the restaurant team. We hope to receive you on another occasion." ... I thought I would at least be offered a discounted breakfast on my next stay but instead I will not be visiting again.

A treat at the end of a long climb
This hotel is a real treat, in an amazing location in the grounds of Lorca Castle. Access is gained via a steep, twisty road that rewards you with stunning views across the Murcian countryside. It is a fair distance to the pleasant town centre so it seemed that most of the guests ate in the restaurant where the food was delicious and served by friendly, professional staff. A visit to the castle is a must, just make sure you pack very sensible footwear as there is a lot of climbing to do.

The position is interesting high above the town but it should be made clear in the description that it impossible to walk there. Unusual building. Fantastic views. No information available except with a QR code. Disappointed that when a steak was fatty the waiter shrugged and only removed it from the bill when we requested him to.

Beautiful Parador
We really enjoyed our 3 day stay as a base to explore the Lorca area. On the whole (apart from one young man on reception for 2 of the nights we were there who was quite abrupt and appeared to present as someone we were interupting) the staff were amazing often going above and beyond to improve our stay. The rooms were spacious, well appointed, clean and comfortable. There were 2 restaurants, one was silver service and one was more bar style meals, both had good menus and were good value for money. The continental breakfast was included in the price of our stay and included an excellent choice of food. The indoor pool was free to use, towels were provided and it was perfect for a bit of exercise. All spa use and treatments had to be paid for. The only thing we were disappointed about was the hotel didn't have an outdoor pool or even a sun terrace which we felt was a shame given everything else it had to offer. The hotel is built within the well preserved ruins of Lorca Castle and the history attached to the ruins is very interesting.

New hotel in Castle Walls
Modern hotel (2012 opened?) on top of the hill in the grounds of Lorca Castle. Parking on site at the top of the twisty steep road. Castle well worth a visit (it’s next door). The hotels restaurant has stunning views.

A museum of greatness!
Booked this some time ago based on reputation and friends recommendation. This was a trip for 9 people to celebrate my daughters 21st birthday, so wanted to set up a few surprises in advance which Upon contacting the hotel I found out I could not do until booked it. I was now concerned! Anyway, the stay was great, the staff were great, the rooms were great, bar area and restaurant all great great!! Some aspects of the hotel felt like a museum, in a good wa! The stay has prompted me to look at other parador hotels across Spain for potential future trips.

A wonderful find
A truly amazing place. High up on a mountain, modern facility surrounded by an ancient past. Hiking trails were beautiful but the best was the food. Dinner was superb; the best bacalao we’ve ever eaten and we’ve eaten a lot of bacalao. Great wine too . Friendly service and a fine bar as well. Comfortable and spacious room with an amazing view

Amazing location
Amazingly beautiful hotel. Beautiful location. Great service, we had meal included in our stay which was fantastic. Waiter gave really good recommendations for both food and wine. Pool was superb.

A very special Hotel, cleverly built around castle
A two night break to celebrate our friends’ Wedding Anniversary! Lovely rooms, comfy beds, superb views, really good service and quiet ambience! Used the swimming pool but not the Spa! Didn’t have breakfast but had a very good evening meal! Lovely terrace area - all Covid safe! Will definitely stay again!

We only spent one night at Parador de Lorca. It is a very nice property in an unusual location. The room was very comfortable and the staff was helpful. The road to this hotel is a little tricky - hard to follow GPS through Lorca and a windy road up to the top where the hotel is situated, but if you are a confident and experienced driver, you will find your way. We did not have dinner in the restaurant, but rather had some small plates and sangria in the bar area. We also did not have the full breakfast, but just some cafe con leche and delicious fresh bread and butter in the dining room. We felt this hotel was reasonably priced and was a good stopping point on our drive.
