"We have stayed in Nagaoka a few times. This hotel is the best. The staff are extremely kind and accommodating. The breakfast buffet is probably the best in all of Niigata prefecture. The rooms are renovated leaving us with the best large and highest pressure shower I've ever had."

"Worth for money "

"We went on a Japan trip for 2 weeks and this was our favorite ryokan, because they made us feel at home. It's in a little town surrounded by snowy mountains, near Shiga Kogen and Snow Monkey Park. The kaiseki was unbelievable, well worth the price. We don't want to ruin the surprises during dinner and the attention to detail throughout the experience. The staff were thoughtful, kind and thorough to us foreigners that don't know all of the customs of the area. The onsen was beautiful, well maintained and allowed us to connect. The owner greeted us several times and was so welcoming. They also have the best chopsticks, it's worth checking out their gift shop. We highly recommend staying here. You won't regret it."

"Pretty good"

"This was amazing onsen beside the Yubatake (which is right in front on the hotel) so you are in the middle of the town they have Yukata you can borrow and take wear to walk and take pictures outside too. Breakfast and dinner had a lot of options and was really good. Make sure to Book Hal-Board, it is worth it! They have onsen eggs for breakfast too! The only downside is that it is a bit old and the walls are thin so can be noisy when people talk on the hallway but Overall this was an amazing hotel and will come back again!"
