Pros: Comfortable bed
Cons: Bar serving alcohol
Location: Too far to walk to the beach
Had a 2 night stay. You needed a taxi to go to the beach. No bar to have alcohol with your dinner. Came to clean the room at 4-30pm when we were resting.

It is near noisy road

Complaint ignored, bathroom door weird!

We had several complaints when staying at Ibis Muscat. First of all, the breakfast buffet wasnt good at all. Second, we complained about the room being too darn cold even after turning of the AC for a whole hour, and they failed to do anything about it. It stayed freezing cold for the rest of our stay. Also, we got a room with double beds, but were shocked to find that the bathroom door had no lock on it! What if someone is sharing a room with a colleague? Thats seriously uncomfortable!

Pros: None really
Cons: Lack of cleanness and the rooms were dirty and smelley
Location: That was great. Well located.
Flies, smell of moisture with fungi all over the room. I had to change room, and I regretted my first room.

Location: It was close by to most shops and restaurants.
I liked the hotel just the beds weren't that comfortable other than that I wasn't there for long it was actually a good hotel.

Recommended hotel in AL Khuwair district of Muscat

Pros: Staff, breakfast, quiet room, cleanliness, underground garage
Location: Recommended restaurant in Al Khuwair district (1 min from Ibis): Grand Turkish Lounge: excellent food at reasonable prices.
My husband and I stayed on the top floor (5th) of this hotel for four days and found it the perfect fall-out place to explore Muscat and surroundings by rental car. This hotel is located in the Al Khuwair district with some restaurants and shops in walking distance and a shopping Mall with a big Lulu supermarket. In a 10-15-minute drive via Sultan Al Qaboos highway, you can reach the Old Town of Muscat with Gate Museum, National Museum, Palace etc. The hotel is conveniently located at a 15-minute drive from the airport.

As comfortable as it was, and efficient as the staff was, the room's temperature was difficult to maintain, and the hot water was luke warm. The breakfast was delicious, but the staff did not stop guests from taking their used plates already eaten in, to refill food. I brought it to the attention of a supervisor in the dinning room, but she did nothing. I then told the desk staff, who promised to change it. I went for breakfast early the next day.
