Excellent location

Posted Jul 21, 2017
Pros: * location * cleanliness
Cons: * room and balcony are cramped * breakfast is not worth the wait for + room size for this service is nowhere near what is needed.
Location: * We really enjoyed Mt. Atlanticus Minotaur Golf * My husband and son fished off of Pier 14 everyday * Excellent location for beach + ocean
We absolutely loved our stay at the Holiday Inn at the Pavilion. The location was superb. My husband and son love to fish and my daughter and I love the beach so it was the best of both. As for the room - it was a bit cramped but kept clean and had a kitchen away from the bedroom which was nice but very tight. Same with the balcony - it was wonderful being able to be open to the ocean but it was very small. We love staying at the Holiday Inn chains, but this was the first one that I have experienced such a cramped breakfast area. We ended up eating out for most meals because the morning breakfast wasn't worth the hastle with everyone so closely trying to get through the breakfast line. And the kitchen being so small and with very few utensils. Also, it is nice that they have umbrellas and chairs setup - on the beach that you can rent but very expensive. And my daughter and I had wanted to parasail but it appeared that was not available where we were located on the beach and we did not travel outside of pier 14. Overall we really enjoyed our trip - and would like to visit myrtle beach again.

Nice Hotel on beach

Posted Jul 19, 2017
Pros: everything
Nice and clean hotel, Close to all the attractions and restaurants. The breakfast consists of bagels, muffins, yogurt, cereal, and fruits. The breakfast area is very small, but we took our breakfast back to the room, not a big deal. Kids had fun at the pool, and we enjoy the hot tub. The pool stays open until 11 pm.

Fantastic Location!

Posted Jul 18, 2017
The location is THE best thing about this hotel, pretty much everything is within walking distance. Parking is across the street, with over flow lots a block away. It is NOT the same as other Holiday Inn Hotels, I understand it is independently owned and operated but it should not be allowed to have the same name. It is quite run down with only 2 elevators so that can also be a challenge, especially when checking out. Housekeeping did not come to our room once during our stay, I had to call for towels. The rooms are not as clean as I would have liked and the AC did not keep the room very cool. Ocean Front rooms are great, I would at least stay on the 4th floor or higher if you want a good view. Although it's not up to par with the usual hotels we stay at, I would consider staying again because of location. Warning: when we were checking out, a family was upset and leaving because they said there were bed bugs in their room. We did not have any bites or see any bugs during our stay but I did wash EVERYTHING we brought just in case.

Good location but WAY overpriced

Posted Jun 29, 2017
The hotel was okay. I would NOT pay more than $80.00 a night at this hotel. The breakfast was not very good. They did a variety of pastries that was sufficient along with juice and the coffee was drinkable with creamer. The room was nicer and comfortable. The pools were very fun and great for the kids. The front desk staff was less than pleasant and they would roll their eyes when they were on the phone with a guest or after the hung up to the coworker behind the counter. They offer no flexibility on check in or out times. I left an item in the room, called the next day and was told they didn't find said item. (A retainer in a retainer box) This is somewaht alarming as you are cleaning the rooms so how exactly are you cleaning the rooms well if you don't find a retainer box on the bathroom counter?! On the phone with housekeeping and she said nope didn't find it. No offer to ask the staff and return my call. If you are going to Myrtle beach as a vacation for the family I strongly suggest spending the extra money for another hotel. We stayed one night, checked out and went to a Hilton property. We did have to pay a little more but the difference in our stay and amenities was second to none!

Pros: Location is ideal. Quiet atmosphere.
Cons: Better breakfast selections.
The staff, from the lobby desk to tiki bar were extremely helpful. Grounds and facilities were well maintained. I would stay here again.

Can't beat ocean front

Posted May 15, 2017
It was a very memorable experience. I would recommend it to anyone. The staff was very helpful in the rooms we're very clean. It was unfortunate there was so much construction going on. The beach was beautiful. we enjoyed all the shops nearby and especially the beach bar across the street the food was excellent.
