Wonderful Ryokan Close to the Snow Monkeys

Posted Feb 15, 2013 on Hotels
My wife and I have wanted to go see the snow monkeys since we first learned about them. We though we might as well visit a local Ryokan with an onsen (natural hot spring) near by if we could find one. A search on the internet led us to Jinpyokaku. All the reviews we read were excellent, so we thought we would give it a try. We were not disappointed. Jinpyokaku is a wonderful Ryokan. The staff are very friendly and treat you with a personal touch. The rooms were wonderful. We had a private outdoor onsen (bath) right outside our room. The large onsen facility was beautiful. The food was fantastic. I am not always a Kaiseki (food style) fan because although it is always beautiful, sometimes it can leave you hungry. Not the case here. The food was beautiful, very tasty, and filling. Last comment: We WILL be back!

Amazing experience!

I cannot recommend this place highly enough. The hospitality began from the outset. They picked us up at the train station and our host was waiting to greet us when the car arrived at Jinpyokaku. That level of service was ever-present throughout our stay. The grounds and our room were also beautiful. The meals were fantastic. It is a short and pleasant walk to the famous snow monkey park. You will not be disappointed...

Wonderful ryokan. Outside pool is fantastic!!

It was a fantastic experience. Staff is so generous that you feel treated like a king. Having a bath in the outside pool sorrounded by snow was one of the best experiences in my life. Food good. Walking distance to the Snow Monkeys Forest. A+.
