Had a wonderful time exploring Namur and staying at the Chateau. The room was large and clean. The bathroom was especially nice with a double sink. Very large bathroom. While the room was large it could use a bit of updating, like new carpeting. But really it was an enjoyable stay and if I were to visit Namur again I would stay there. If you do not have much luggage you can take a bus right from the train station. We did it with quite a bit of luggage. The bus stops right at the Chateau. When we left we decided to just take a taxi from the hotel to the train. It was only 10 Euros. It would be nice if the hotel had a shuttle service. Especially at night if you are out on the town you have to take a taxi back as the bus does not run very late. We ate one meal at the Chateau. It was a bit dry, but good and it is after all students who are learning. All in all it was a nice place to stay.

Dear Nancy, Thanks for your feedback concerning our hotel. It's a delight to note you had a pleasant stay in our hotel.. We're glad you appreciated your room. Note that we plan big renovations in autumn 2017. Thanks for hinting at our young trainees placed under the supervision and the guidance of experienced professionals. As you noticed it, we're reachable by public transportation with a bus stop (line 3) leading to the centre: railway station and Leopold square. We take good note of your suggestion. We look forward to seeing you again soon.

Nothing particularly special about our stay - felt it was overpriced and staff a little abrupt. 5 course gourmet dinner disappointing.

Nice hotel with expensive restaurant

Pros: The hotel has some character.
Cons: Bedroom facilities a but dated.
The hotel was fine but the restaurant was expensive and the food was not great. The wine was served too cold (red) and the staff were smiley and ok. The bed was in need of updating and the outside spot shone into the room all night.

Pros: Try to eat in the hotel restaurant if possible. The food is on par with any gourmet location in Europe. It is attached to a cooking school.
Cons: Nothing
Location: The Meuse valley is an amazing combination of culture and history. Visit Dinant!
The air of an old French Chateau with all of the modern conveniences. This place is the one to stay in if you want to experience the best the region has to offer. The grounds and the view are fantastic.

Great hotel. Great food.

Pros: Location. Great staff and very accommodating. Very professional. They could teach other hotels some lessons.
Cons: Reduce noise from sliding front doors. Our room was just above it and could hear the doors opening and closing. As cyclists, we were in bed early.
Location: Visit La citadelle de Namur (and old centre) and go to Dinant.
Enjoyed our two night stay. Staffs are very nice. They knew we were cycling and offered us fresh bottles of water at our return. Spoil yourself and enjoy dinner at the restaurant. Food is very, very good. I would recommend to anyone.

Pros: Views, location. Good size rooms. BBC1 tv ! Helpful staff. Peaceful.
Cons: Breakfast rather expensive and limited choice. No swimming pool. Signage from roads could be better. More options for evening eating.
Location: Boat trips from namur. Taxi or bus to station and then day trips or Bruges, Brussels, Luxembourg etc. citadel.
Excellent hotel. Helpful staff. Lovely gardens and a short walk to the citadel with views over Namur.

A Pleasant Stay at the Chateau

Pros: Rooms are nice and clean with easy access internet. Restaurant is a dining pleasure with a French flair. It's a little pricey but top notch.
Cons: The check in staff could use a little lesson in politeness. Quite rude and short.
Location: Basically in a semi-residential area, it is very quiet. The Citadel is a short distance away and offers a nice walking tour.
The Chateau is quite a pleasant way to spend a day and night. With comfortable rooms, easy access free internet and a gourmet restaurant, the hotel provides a nice quiet getaway from the noise and bustle of the city. While the hotel shows a few worn and rough spots, all in all it appears that upgrading is definately taking place and is well under control.

Elegant (but out of the way)

A very nice hotel in a beautiful hilltop location that is, unfortunately, not terribly covenient for going into the town of Namur. Rooms are large and comfortable. I left my passport in the night table drawer. Hotel staff cleaned the room but did not find it. I returned 2 days later after calling the hotel twice. They claimed it wasn't there. The receptionist walked up to the room with me, we opened the night table drawer and, surprise, there it was, I was not impressed. Otherwise, a great stay in a beatiful and elegant property with lovely grounds. Need a taxi to go anywhere but sure worth a visit.
