Dear Guest, we are sorry to hear that the beds were not to your liking or comfort. We have had many comments from other guests that say they are very comfortable. It is a very personal taste and it's hard to make everyone happy.

We enjoyed the pool and the beds were super comfortable! I wasn't expecting much for the price but I would definitely stay here again!

Pros: Staff, restaurant. Love the sitting area separate from sleeping area. 2 tv's.
Cons: Address is not Island Pkwy...it is 809 Nichols
The hotel is not on Island Pkwy......Island Pkwy turns into Terminal Rd......which turns into Nochols. This needs to be addressed. Very confusing to get to.

Over night stay

Posted Sep 22, 2016
Was an ok motel, just needed place for overnight. Didnt realize it wa so close to train tracks, lots of trains during the night. Really pleased to have the Zalas restaurant so close, a great place to eat.

I'm not sure you are reviewing the right place. We are a Hotel and there is no Zalas Restaurant located near us. You may be thinking of Zougla which is a Greek Restaurant located across from the Departure Bay Motel.

Far from town and ferry

Posted Sep 21, 2016
Pros: Good customer service skills from staff.
Cons: Update the rooms.
Location: Car needed to get to town and ferry. Next time I'/d get a closer hotel.
Hotel is on the outskirts of town with a precarious driveway entrance. Car is needed.

Dear recent Guest, the Days Inn Nanaimo is a short 5 minute drive to downtown Nanaimo, 15 minutes to the Departure Bay Ferry Terminal and 25 minutes to the Duke Point Ferry Terminal. While a vehicle is needed, our location is certainly convenient for a great deal of our guests. We are sorry to hear this was not the case for you.

Comfortable Clean Hotel.

Posted Sep 17, 2016
Pros: All aspects of the hotel worked like clockwork due to the existing Staff doing their job to the best of their abilities and always having a smile.
Cons: Not very much, all appeared very satisfactory.
Location: The location was suitable due to being very close to Departure Bay, shopping, and various other amenities.
The signing in process was quick, efficient, and friendly. All cleaning staff were very accommodating, friendly, and the room was clean, and comfortable. The personable gentleman who hosted the good breakfast did a wonderful job as he replenished various items and renewed the coffee supply continuously. Oh yes, Ricky's restaurant menu and Staff were great.

Nice hotel near the town, easy to find

Posted Sep 7, 2016
Pros: Clean, quiet, easy to find and provide easy access to the areas activities
Cons: Breakfast, choice is limited
Location: Lots to do get a map of the area. You can do a lot on day trips.
This was our first time in the area, thus we wanted a clean hotel that was easy to find, and provided us with easy access to the town of Nanaimo and to other activities in the area. For us this hotel meet our needs.

Nice staff, but....

Posted Sep 6, 2016
Pros: Nice staff
Cons: Update the interior of the hotel: rooms need bad upgrade. Plugs should be in walls, not out in the open on the floor.
Location: Ferry terminal
This hotel is conveniently located right on the highway, so getting around town was quick. The exterior of the hotel looks renovated, but inside, is another story. Our room was on the lower floor (basement) and upon entering this level, the smell almost knocked us out. It stank like garbage. The carpets were thick, but looked like they could use some replacing. The bathroom fixtures in our room looked dated: the toilet even overflowed while we were there (luckily, it was only water). Unfortunately, housekeeping isn't around at night, so only towels were offered by the front desk. Good thing we only had to stay one night. The breakfast was very continental: toast, bagels, muffins, fruit, hard boiled eggs...nothing special, but the area was kept clean. The staff were very nice and friendly.
