Recently renovated & comfortable hotel

Posted Aug 24, 2015
We were genuinely impressed with the hotel and it compares very well to other Ramadas & hotels in similar price range. The hotel, including the rooms, are recently renovated and done tastefully. The rooms are spacious and comfortable. Balconies are a nice touch. The breakfast was better than similar hotels we stayed on our trip (likely, the best), with more choices and better tasting food. The staff were great and we had a pleasant stay. The only thing that would be nice to have is the pool... I would definitely recommend this hotel.

Great Stay in Nanaimo

Posted Aug 17, 2015
Pros: Comfortable, clean, and our room was roomy and had everything we needed
Location: We stayed one night on our way to Tofinio and again on our trip back. We did not have time to take in any of the attractions in the area.
We had a very good experience at the Ramada in Nanaimo. The hotel was clean, comfortable and the staff were very helpful and friendly. We would certainly recommend this hotel to friends and family.

Best hotel for the price!

Posted Aug 16, 2015
Pros: The location, room rate and staff's smiles!
Cons: It is fairly old building, but maintained very well, so no need for an improvement. Free parking would help attracting more families and couples.
Location: The location is fabulous! You can literally walk to everything near the Warf and famous buildings. Water taxi stop is close and convenient.
Great place - has a sauna and fitness room, very clean and convenient.

yellow water in jet tub

Posted Aug 15, 2015
Got an upgraded room with a jetted tub and king bed. jetted tub was filthy and when filled up had yellow smelly water in it, spoke to hotel staff who said they don't clean their filters.... thats gross. I paid extra for a tub that we couldnt even use. the tub also leaked when it was filled. it was very disappointing. The breakfast room was so small you couldn't sit down cuz there wasnt enough seats either day so we couldnt take advantage. The king bed was actually comfy and sheets were clean. the bathroom wasnt that clean however, the pink cleaner they use had left over residue inside the shower and on the toilet seat. we complained to the manager who gave us $50 back for our reservation price but in wouldn't recommend anyone bother upgrading rooms there due to that tub, it was disgusting and not worth what we paid for the room.

Pros: Clean and comfortable.
Cons: Breakfast. Still based on unhealthy choices like sugared cereals, fatty meats and Splenda in yogurt. No recycling; way behind the times.
Location: Near Old Town Nanaimo.
Check in was fine and we were moved when requesting a quiet room. Our room was above a busy street, but the windows and fan blocked out most noise.

Pleasant stop returning from the Broken Islands

Posted Aug 3, 2015
Pros: Very comfortable; easy access to the Nanaimo/Port Duke ferry terminals; a/c, pillows, carpet, beds were odor free.
Cons: Thorough cleaning, dusting. Balcony door was unlocked when I first entered the room.
Very comfortable rooms (our party used 3 rooms) -- great a/c (it was a 90-degree day), lots of soft pillows on each bed! The free breakfast is convenient, nothing fancy (hot foods: pre-made cheese omelets, sausage patties, waffles, instant oatmeal; cereals, toast, bagels, yogurt, apples; assorted teas and coffee; weak juices). Hope the rooms can be maintained to be as odor free as they were when we stayed there.

Hotel mitten in der Innenstadt

Posted Jul 26, 2015
