Nice, comfortable stay and very friendly staff

Posted Aug 15, 2016
Pros: Friendly staff, clean and comfortable rooms, and good breakfast.
Cons: More restaurants near the hotel would be nice.
Location: There is White Spot restaurant just 2 minutes away (walking distance) from the hotel. There is also a gas station and a convenience store next door.
My family and I needed a place to stay for 2 nights so we booked this hotel. The staff was very welcoming and friendly which made our stay all that much better. The beds were ultra comfortable and all our rooms were very clean. Their breakfast plan was simple but generous. We were delightfully surprised that they had boiled eggs, orange juice, various cereals, waffle, some fruits, various breads and baked goods, plus coffee and tea. Compared to another hotel we had stayed in, I'd say that their continental breakfast plan was a lot better! Also, if you need extra toiletries (i.e. razors, toothbrush, toothpaste, etc.) you can ask for them at the front desk. Mind you, they already provide shampoo and soap in the room. Another great thing about this hotel is that you get a decent-sized fridge plus a microwave and a coffee maker. White Spot restaurant and a gas station (plus a convenience store) are right next to this hotel. But if you want to go to a supermarket, a shopping centre, or other restaurants, you will need to drive for about 5-10 minutes. There is a gorgeous view of the harbour and a lovely walkway nearby (5 minute walking distance). Over all, I am very happy with my stay here.

As strangers it was easy to find

Posted Aug 11, 2016
Pros: Good location good breakfast and lovely well equipped room
Cons: More insulation between rooms
Location: Close to the highway easy to get to lovely water front with plenty of eating places
It was close to the sea front and places to eat the breakfast was more than equate the room was comfy our only complaint was the lack of insulation between the rooms which is ok unless you have the neighbours from hell that we had they were talking LOUDLY when re retired woke us up at 3.30 with the same voices and were woken again at 5.45 by a blaring television which made for a tiring day with a 10hour flight and an 8 hour time difference non of which was yours or the hotels fault

Nothing fancy but a comfortable stay

Posted Aug 8, 2016
I've stayed here twice now on my trips to Nanaimo. It's clean and comfortable. Convenient to downtown. Right beside a gas station for snacks. Great continental breakfast but could use some bacon or sausage and eggs on the menu. Staff is friendly. Beds are very comfortable. Don't quite understand why a queen bed only has 3 pillows when two people need two each when relaxing watching TV but not a big deal. Private balcony for all units is nice. This is my go to hotel for now on

Excellent staff

Cons: Reduce the price to be standard the actual rate is for 4 stars not for 2 and half stars
In my opinion, the only things positive there is the quality of staff (ladies in front desk, lady for breakfast, cleaning were fantastic ) the rate per night is higher and doesn`t deserve this kind of price ( 2 stars) ,the rate of this kind of the hotel should be 65-70 maximum .i used to stay in hotel in europe, canada . all of equipment there are too old (washroom it`s for kids not for adults, air conditioning, room is to small )

Pros: Easy access, good continental breakfast
Cons: Different types of pillows to choose from, soft, firm etc
Location: Centrally located which allowed us to travel to different areas of the island
Great front desk staff, pet friendly Monique was the best front desk person we've ever encountered. From our first conversation with her over the phone to dealing with her in person, she was excellent and because of her we will definitely stay again the next trip here.
