A must stay when visiting Nantucket

Cannot recommend this place enough! The owner was so helpful and let us check-in late for Christmas Stroll. The hotel could not be cuter; such a warm and inviting living room complete with fireplace. Homemade cookies in the afternoon! The location is perfect- close to all attractions and sights. Will definitely stay again!

Very comfortable inn close to town

The Carlisle House Inn is a comfortable, clean venue with a friendly, warm and welcoming staff. The rooms are pretty basic with no frills, but each morning the staff puts out a nice continental breakfast with coffee, fresh pastries, fruit, cereals, etc. The front desk has delicious chocolate chip cookies that are available each afternoon. The housekeeping at the Carlisle is excellent as the rooms and public spaces are very clean. I have only one concern for mobility-impaired visitors. Specifically, most if not all, of the rooms are on two floors (2nd and 3rd) and the stairs are very steep as this is a circa 1783 building. The inn is very well-located in town with a short walk to the ferry as well as restaurants and shops.

Nice location, but dated and in need of interior and exterior work. Bathroom is tiny and little lighting in the room.

Thank you for taking the time to give us feedback. The inn was purchased just 4 months ago and has been undergoing renovations. Our bathrooms are slated for renovations within the month. Please know that we have extensively renovated over the previous owner and continue to make improvements as reservations allow.

The location was good but we were particularly disappointed as had booked a queen sized bedroom with its own bathroom but were told we had a shared bathroom. This is now shown for the room on the website but when I booked in early June this was not the case. We would never have booked a room with shared bathroom. Lady in reception is very pleasant and certainly does her best but owner is not in evidence. Would not recommend this inn
