Adorable B&B In Perfect Location

Posted Oct 29, 2013 on Hotels
We had such a great time at the Brass Lantern Inn. We came for an off-peak fall weekend and were thrilled with everything. The inn is in the perfect location, the common areas are fabulous, and our room was clean & comfortable. We will definitely be back next fall!

It was beautiful, convenient, breakfast was good!

Pros: It's attractive, comfortable, nicely managed, and close to the ferry, restaurants and other things to see and do.
Cons: Not much!
Location: We love being "in-town" and walking to everything there. The Whaling Museum is a favorite place, the Nantucket Atheneum is conveniently nearby also.
We were able to leave our things there when we arrived early in the morning, and they called us before normal checkin time to say "our room was ready". It was welcoming, and we would stay there again!

We like our guests to feel that the Brass Lantern is their 'home' on Nantucket during their stay. Come to the Inn as soon as you arrive, say hello, leave your luggage, take a map and we will text you when your room is ready! We are closed now for the winter and reopen on April 3 and we look forward to your next stay.

An absolutely delightful B&B, superb home-made cookies, good coffee (available 24/24) and the most comfortable bed possible

Enjoyable stay.

Pros: Old but as expected.
Cons: Shower was very small.
Location: Was close to everything in Nantucket town.
Was recommended by a friend who had stayed previously, good recommendation.

It sounds like you stayed in the Main Inn, built in 1847, and with some rooms that are quite small. The eight rooms in our Garden Wing, built in the 1990s, are much larger and were all completely renovated just last year. Take a look at the Garden Wing when you plan your next Nantucket holiday!

I'll Definitely Return

Posted Sep 4, 2013 on Hotels
The Brass Lantern Inn was exactly as advertised--- from its warm, helpful staff (especially Sharon) to its comfortable mattresses, beautiful hard wood floors, toile wall and bed coverings, tastefully curated art and well-tended flower boxes. The location is such that we easily walked to the beach, top restaurants and resorts (like The Nantucket Hotel and White Elephant) within 10 minutes. Even the bathroom exceeded our expectations. Every request or query received prompt, thoughtful attention. It was not our first trip to Nantucket, and we previously stayed in other B&Bs, and The Brass Lantern definitely stands apart in terms of its quality. We will definitely return.

Hello Shea - Thank you for your high praise - you have described the kind of experience that we hope all of our guests experience. Your comments are especially meaningful, since you are a 'veteran' guest at other Nantucket BnBs! We look forward to your next stay when we re-open in April for 2016.

Great!

Pros: Location
Great location. Steps away from the ferry, and the downtown. Very clean and well maintained b&b. Underwhelmed by the breakfast, but that's ok.

Glad you liked our location and noted our ongoing updating and renovating efforts. Sorry our breakfast disappointed - we are not allowed to serve cooked breakfasts with our residential kitchen, so do the best we can with our fresh baked muffins and scones, Brass Lantern made granola and yogurt, hard cheese platter for protein, and fresh fruit every day. Guests who want a hot, cooked breakfast usually go to Black-Eyed Susan's or Fog Island, both just a short walk from the Brass Lantern and a breakfast 'event'!
