Nice, but........could make a few chAngels.Posted Sep 10, 2015
Pros: It's a very nice hotel with a great history and a great location. The staff are very pleasant and helpful. The Continental breakfast is very good.
Cons: Need to block out noise from patio. Need to change lighting and fan in the bathroom.
Location: The location is great. It's close to the ferry dock and many stores and restaurants. It's within walking distance of the Whaling Museum and bus stops.
Jared Coffin House is a very nice hotel in the heart of Nantucket. It's close to everything and has a wonderful charm. It's very clean and the staff is very pleasant and helpful. Our room was very comfortable but, a little on the small side. There were a couple of things that we found to be annoying though. First of all, our room was located just above the outdoor patio restaurant and we found it noisy when trying to sleep. We felt that they could've easily sealed the sides of the air conditioner unit to cut down on the noise. Even more annoying was the bathroom light. When you turn on the bathroom light, it also turns on the light outside of the bathroom so, if you have to get up in the middle of the night, it wakes everyone up in the room. I had to use the light from my iPhone so that I didn't disturb my wife when I got up. Also, the fan in the bathroom was extremely loud and unpleasant. The continental breakfast was very good and their coffee cake was the best we ever had. Overall, I would rate our stay at about 3.5 out 5 but, with a few of these changes it could have been a 5 out of 5. Ask for a room away from the patio!

Pros: The staff was lovely.
Cons: The rooms need to be updated
Location: It is a wonderful location!!!
I have to say I was a little disappointed by the room. It was very dated and small. There was also a distinct musty odor in the hall near my friends room.

Elegant, historical, great locationPosted Aug 13, 2015
Pros: Grace, beauty, furnishings in keeping with historical character, portraits of the whaling Coffins, etc.
Cons: Maybe the breakfast could be served at a table (s) with place settings to allow guests, if they wished, to exchange information.
Location: Centre street is full of chic shops - art, clothing, jewelry. Whaling Museum (a center) two blocks down Broad Street. Five good restaurants close.
Enjoyed this stay tremendously. Room was private, view of trees, but at the intersection of Centre Street (leads to Main St.) and Broad St. (to the harbor). Discovered that the passage to the rear from the two front parlors leads to a first class restaurant, open late. Excellent service from all the staff. Hotel is historic, so no elevator.

Will come back again!Posted Aug 6, 2015 on Hotels
Top-notch, friendly service at every point. Clean, comfortable, pleasant space conveniently located in the center of town. Perks: beach chairs, towels & water bottles available for your dash off to the beach Opportunities: more conveniently located outlets for device charging. We had to go on a search for outlets in the room, then move or crawl under furniture to access.

Nice B and B , located in town and close to beach.Posted Jul 29, 2015
Nice B and B in town location and close to beach. We had an amazing experience here. The staff couldn't do enough for us. They held all of our luggage prior to checking in and after checkout A continental breakfast was included. They also provided beach chairs and towels. When we were ready to head back to the ferry a gentleman even offered us a ride. Will definitely be back.
