Decent hotel near wine country
Posted Sep 30, 2016
My husband and I stayed at the Doubletree the weekend of Sept 23, 2016. The rate was quite good given it was high season in the area. It's about a 15 minute drive north up to the city of Napa. The traffic in the afternoons back down to the hotel was awful - it took about 30-40 minutes to drive 5 miles. Keep that in mind if you intend to drive back and forth between the hotel and the cities north.
The room is was big and the bed was comfortable. We really liked that it had a empty mini-fridge, and it was very quiet. The toilet did not function and we had to contact maintenance to take a look at it. In short, the tank would not fill unless you giggled a mechanism. Maintenance did not permanently fix the issue, but we figured out how to adjust it ourselves which was not an ideal situation. The mechanism needs to be replaced.
We felt the room could have been cleaned and dusted better. Dust was all over the front of the furniture. So no doubt the cleaning team cleaned the top of surfaces regularly, but everything else was not adequately dusted.
Overall, it was an OK hotel at a decent rate.
