Comfortable and spacious
We enjoyed our stay at Tom’s home. Location is a little distant from restaurants and beach access but the house is on a dead-end street, so it’s a nice quiet neighborhood. Easy, direct boating access to Collier Bay. Living space indoors and out was well furnished and spacious! Pool was warm and large. An outdoor mini-fridge helped keep traffic in/out of the house to a minimum. Laundry worked well and kitchen had many useful tools for cooking. Listing didn’t mention bed size and was surprised (given the large size of the master bedroom) with a queen in the master suite and one guest room; the other guest room has twin beds.
On the down side, we had some trouble with basic appliances. Neither A/C worked when we arrived. The owner warned us about the main floor unit ahead of time and it was replaced on our second day. However, the upstairs unit never worked. Fortunately, it was a cool week on Marco when we were there, so these inconveniences didn’t affect us much. However, hot water didn’t work in the second floor (guest) bath. We tried the owner’s advice to let it run for a while, but after 20 min nothing still came. Guests had to use a downstairs shower in the morning. No repair was offered while we were there (9 days).
