Location is perfect

Posted Oct 20, 2016
Pros: Views - balconies for every room I think.
Cons: Softer pillows and blankets. Clean the carpet in bedrooms. Refurbish bathrooms.
Location: By the coast - handy for the ferries and buses into town.
It's a fairly modern large hotel overlooking Castel Ovo - stunning views to the Bay of Naples on quiet Via Partenope - a relief from the dirt and noise of Naples. However, the room decor is "tired" - grubby carpet and not very comfortable bed and hard pillow. Sheets, towels were good but we were chilly and the only other covering is a very heavy old fashioned blanket. Breakfast excellent. Basically, we were disappointed with our night's sleep.

Good hotel in great location

Posted Oct 9, 2016
Pros: The size of the room/balcony, the location, the views and the breakfast.
Cons: Re-cover the bathroom floor.
Location: Plenty of restaurants locally. Try La Cantina dei Lazzari on via Santa Lucia.
This is a four star hotel located directly on the sea front catering mainly for the business and conference market so it lacks the homely feel of smaller hotels, but that doesn't stop it being a pleasant place to stay. We booked a superior room with sea view and balcony. The room was large and comfortable with two wing back arm chairs which certainly add to the comfort. The balcony was large too with fantastic views over the Bay of Naples, Vesuvius and Capri with Castel Dell'Ovo in the foreground. There was loads of storage space and a good sized bathroom. The one negative point was the condition of the bathroom floor. It was made of small square mosaic tiles which were badly worn. Unfortunately in that condition it doesn't matter how much you clean them or how clean they are they will never actually look clean which was a shame. Breakfast was very good offering cooked and continental options and also offered barista style speciality coffees. The dining room occupied the whole of the front of the mezzanine floor of the hotel with fantastic sea views. The hotel has a pool and a gym but be warned the pool is only open from 11.00 AM to 5.30 PM which is when most people are out and about so isn't very useful and the gym doesn't have a rowing machine which was a shame. The road at the front of the hotel is very quiet - joggers actually run down the middle of it. However from time to time a busker playing high volume electronic music sets up at the entrance to Castel Dell'Ovo and

Nice part of Naples

Posted Oct 6, 2016 on Hotels
Chose this hotel because of the rooftop bar and the location. The rooftop bar is a pool bar and is open at pool hours (closed at 6 pm) and shot my idea of a drink at sunset on the rooftop bar with the fabulous view. The location was great and parking garage next to the hotel. The street between the hotel and the sea is closed to traffic and the street life was fun and many restaurants served on the street with live music. Naples is a bit run down, lots of low income neighborhoods, and the streets are under construction. This area just past the main port was very nice, felt safer, had lots or families and walkers, had museums and shopping, and was much nicer and cleaner.

Overpriced & Overrated

Posted Oct 2, 2016
Had a political conference which entailed police and military presence. No letter to give us warning that this would be taking place. Staff was very tight lipped and just said it will be over in a couple of hours. Hotel lobby was very nice, room very outdated and air was set at low setting not to be tampered with. Staff was not pleasant at all.
