Clean hotel with free breakfast. Walking distance to Broadway. Friendly and helpful staff. The only thing missing was a pool.

Good location, walking distance to restaurants, etc

Posted Jul 24, 2016
Pros: I liked the full breakfast every morning, included in the room price. Staff is friendly and helpful.
This hotel allowed me a late check out my last day, since I had a later flight home. I really appreciated this courtesy.

Decent Room

Posted Jul 21, 2016
I was surprised to find that the entrance to my room was outside rather than down an interior hallway. The staff was friendly and the room was clean with the exception of some missed dust.

Not the best hotel choice for Nashville

Posted Jul 17, 2016
Location: Hotel is a short walk to major sights, Honky Tonk Row, Country Music Hall of Fame etc
Ended up staying at this hotel as we received notification from Expedia that our original hotel choice had cancelled our booking. While the location of this hotel is good, we felt like we were going back in time and staying in a dorm room in University. The actual hotel is very tired looking and the outside corridors do little to add to the overall appearance. Our bathroom was very dark and it was very odd to discover that there were no towel racks!! Also the first time I have ever stayed in a hotel where the safe is in the bathroom. The breakfast selection was ok and the elevator was painfully slow.

This is a poorly renovated, overpriced, MOTEL

Posted Jul 16, 2016
Pros: The rooms themselves are nicely renovated with modern appointments.
Location: The downtown location is very office building feel with poor views. Not the safest part of town.
Advertises as an upscale hotel but is nothing more than a poorly renovated motel. I paid 4Star hotel prices for a poor motel accommodation. You can get a much better experience at a low priced hotel chain. Don't waste your money.

Motel not hotel

Posted Jul 8, 2016
Pros: Nothing
Cons: Don't call it a Hotel.
Not a good experience at all. Hotel was old, however it was updated but seemed like more of a masking. The location was in walking distance but when I booked it I was told it was on main strip. I was originally going to book the Holiday Inn but was told this was a step up. It was more like a step or 2 down. We checked in and checked out about 45 minutes later. They did keep our $$ and expedia was not much help in advocating for us to get our money refunded. I doubt very much I would use expedia due to the fact that I was totally mislead about this MOTEL.

Perfect for Nashville vacation.

Posted Jun 26, 2016
The staff were helpful, friendly, and professional. They went out of their way to make our stay enjoyable. We laughed because the elevator can be a little slow sometimes, but it was just part of the uniqueness of The Capital. The rooms were prefect...clean, cool, and comfy. We can't wait to go back to Nashville and we WILL stay at The Capital.

Nice enough

Posted Jun 24, 2016
I reserved this hotel because of its proximity to Bridgedtone Arena. It is within walking distance, and while we did walk to the concert, we got a ride back. It was just my daughter and myself, but if you have a larger group it should be fine to walk back later in the evenings. Check-in was a breeze, and all of the staff (including front desk, valet, breakfast dining...) were very friendly. The room was very clean and comfortable, but since the doors open to outside, I kept the A/C turned on to drown out some of the street noise. The hotel was full but I didn't hear anybody in surrounding rooms at all. Breakfast was good, with cold and hot items. We didn't use other amenities, so can't comment on other stuff. Overall it met our needs and was a nice stay.

Basically a nice motel

Posted Jun 11, 2016
Staff was fine, location was also fine (walkable and easy to get to main downtown attractions), but despite trying to upgrade the furniture and decor which was nice it still very much had the skeleton of a motel. I also didn't like that my only window and natural light was the outdoor walking hallway. The traffic was a little louder than I expected from the street and I could hear the beeps of the sidewalk crossing signal. So if you arent staying in your room a ton, this isn't a bad option.
