"We booked the Presidential Suite for 1 night prior to our flights from Johannesburg to London to Dallas. We were treated like royalty from the moment we arrived. We were greeted with hot towels and bottled water. Our room was still being cleaned, so we were seated in the Lounge and provided with complimentary 'adult beverages' while we waited. When our room was ready, our bags were rolled to our room for us. The Concierge staff could not have been more friendly or helpful. They took pictures of my husband and I posing in our beautiful room. The room was magnificent with an tiled entryway and half bathroom, executive desk complete with desk top computer and copier was just off the entryway. We had a dining room with a live orchid plant on the table, a mini bar stocked with complimentary water & sodas, complimentary full sized liquor bottles included in room rate. None of the bottles were items we drank, so they switched one bottle out for Jack Daniels. Nice! The living room was quite spacious and comfy. The bedroom was large and the bed very comfortable. The Master bath was amazing with marble everywhere. Everything we needed was provided from robes to slippers, to hairdryer and scale. The masterbath room had a bidet in it. And there was a large bowl of Lindor truffles in the living room. We ordered room service for dinner. The lamb shank, salad, hamburger with fries & chocolate torte was delicious. Spa very nice. Breakfast was quite tasty. "

"Spent my honeymoon at the Houghton Hotel and from being greeted with a rose and complimentary glass of wine, we knew it would be a pleasant experience. From the front desk staff to the restaurant we were well taken good care of! Our room was beautiful and spacious. Delicious food and most friendly staff, we loved Sisa! Will absolutely come again and recommend! "

"We stayed here on both bookends of our visit to South Africa. The staff was extremely helpful, friendly, and professional. They allowed us to early check-in hours before the listed time - without any extra fees or hassles. The dining experiences we had here was outstanding and even with one small "oops" on one of the wait staff's part, it was quickly resolved and soon forgotten. Even with about ten days between our stays, the staff we interacted with both times remembered us and even some of the activities we had planned to do. We both would highly recommend this hotel to anyone and, if we ever travel through Johannesburg again would stay here again without a second thought. "

"I unfortunately had a room that looked onto a back yard and was not very nice. The airconditioner/heater made a heck of a noise. How-ever my room was very clean and comfortable and had adequate amenities, as in shampoo, soap etc. and tea and coffee in the room."

"This is still my favorite hotel to stay at in Johannesburg. I have been staying there since it opened multiple times per year. The staff is amazing. Service excellent. Rooms very comfortable. I do notice, however, that the hotel is in need of a little update, as it is showing a little wear. However, I already have my next reservation in."
