LOW QUALITY - HIGH PRICE RESORT

Posted Aug 22, 2015
Pros: 1] The Maintenance Technician 2] The Resort Manager 3] The Computer, Internet-use & printing policy and facilities.
Cons: The attitude that Bahamians have towards people from other Caribbean Islands and African Americans.
Location: There are GOOD cafes and shops in the Sandy Port residential and commercial complex adjacent to the resort....... THE SERVICE OVER THERE IS GOOD.
The check-in time was much later than other resorts I have stayed at in the Bahamas. The access card did not work at first so I had to ask the assistance of the lady servicing the rooms to use her master key to give access. She advised that we attend the front-office and ask them to re-program the card........... I did and that worked. ONLY ONE ACCESS WAS GIVEN FOR MY WIFE & MYSELF............we took turns in leaving the room unless we leaving for the reason to the same place. I ask the lady at the front desk why was there no microwave oven in the room, seeing that it was a feature advertised on the web-site. She made an apology and promised to have room service supply us with one.......... 4 HOURS LATER I HAD TO TAKE MY WIFE'S DINNER AND WARM IT UP ON THE MICROWAVE OVEN LOCATED IN THE GENERAL DINING AREA NEXT TO THE FRONT OFFICE. The air conditioning unit broke down two hours after we were in the room........ the lady at the front desk considered me a bother for making another complain. THE SERVICE TECHNICIAN WAS VERY POLITE & HELPFUL ---- he is much too professional to be working there. The resort was also extremely polite. They need new fittings in the bathrooms....... too much rusty pipes.

Nice atmosphere, room needs attention

Posted Aug 19, 2015
Pros: The beach and the hotel facilities were nice.
Found the room to have old curtains, cracks in the sink and furniture needs deep cleaning. The resort was great outside and the staff was nice. Had a 10 am flight into Nassau and alerted the hotel prior, but they made us wait until 4 pm to clean the room. I'm sure the maid could have cleaned it by noon! I could have.

No restaurant bar or shop on site. Chronically slow wifi for which we had to pay an extra $13 per day. No elevators to guest rooms, had to haul luggage up stairs. Definitely would not stay again - this property is extremely overpriced for a very entry level hotel. It's not even on the beach. Overall a very poor experience.

Pleasant hotel in nice area

Posted Jul 13, 2015
I found this hotel rather disappointing in that the rooms were spread out in different buildings which meant more walking than I wanted, in the open (not good in the rain). Also, the restaurant was more than a half mile from my room and I had to get a golf cart shuttle to and from it. The grounds were very pleasantly landscaped with ponds and pools with an artificial beach. The staff were all very helpful.

Disappointing, Very Disappointing!!!

Posted Jun 30, 2015
Pros: The kids likes the water slide and the hammocks slung between the palm trees.
Cons: cleanliness, maintenance, manager that cares
This was not a cheap hotel to stay in, and for the price was it disappointing in terms of service, cleanliness and overall maintenance. Its become quite shabby since the photos were taken. When arrived to check in at 5pm, there were other guest throwing fits and trying to book other hotels on the reception computers, while we quietly waited to be served. They didn't have the 2xqueen room for us that we had booked, as a group of 4, but instead were 'upgrading us to a studio' - we turned this down, as the studio only slept 3. We were asked to wait 5 minutes, then half an hour, then to come back at 7. Finally at 8.30pm, tired and ready to quit, we helped the cleaner get her equipment out the room so we could get in. We should have had her leave it - it was clearly a rush job. The bathroom was not for the squeamish. Hairs left on the surfaces, badly stained toilet, rusty plughole and a bath plug that didn't fit. Overall if I had booked for any more than the two nights at this 'resort' I would have cried.

A PIECE OF SERENITY AND BEAUTY

Posted Jun 16, 2015
Pros: EVERYTHING. THE ROOMS ARE VERY NICE. EQUIPT FOR MAKING YOUR OWN MEALS. AIR CONDITIONED, GREAT CLOSET SPACE, SITTING AREA AND DINNING AREA.
Cons: NOTHING I CAN THINK OF.
Location: THERE ARE VANS THAT RUN TO DOWNTOWN DURING THE DAY UNTIL ABOUT 7:30 PM. THE STRAW MARKET \ TOWN IS VERY INTERESTING, JEWELRY SHOPS ARE PLENTIFUL.
A BEAUTIFUL RESTFUL PROPERTY. THE GROUNDS ARE LUSH AND VERY WELL KEPT. THE STAFF IS ALWAYS WILLING TO HELP. IT HAS BECOME OUR HOME AWEAY FROM HOME.THE ACCOMODATIONS ARE PERFECT FOR DAILY LIVING. THE HOTEL ALSO ARRANGES A TRIP TO THE SUPERMARKET ONCE A WEEK FOR GUESTS, THERE IS A WONDERFUL CHEF ON THE PREMISES NAMED CLEVELAND WHO PREPARES GREAT FOOD.

We really enjoyed our stay at the Sandyport Resort. It was nice a clean and the staff was very friendly and helpful. If you want to be pampered this may not be the spot for you but if you just want to get away this is the perfect place. The hotel is a little out of town but just a 15 minute bus trip into town. There is a market just a short walk from the hotel. There are a few restaurants with in walking distance, but nothing directly on property ( except the Tuesday night bbq, which I recommend). As with most everything on the island it is a little pricey but good. The staff was helpful in booking some scuba trips for us. The charters sent a van to pick us up and drop us off. Our room had a little kitchenette that was nice to make simple meals in. We were a little disappointed that there was no direct beach access but the pools and waterway was nice. As I mentioned before, this place is not extravagant but if you want a down to earth, relaxing and friendly place, Sandyport will meet your needs.

Best mini vacation ever

I went to the Bahamas with my one of my really good friends for a weekend Getaway for Memorial Day weekend. It was her first time to Nassau and she enjoyed it. The resort was beautiful and the receptionist Cameron was one of a kind. There are a selection of different restaurants on site that offers a variety of foods and snacks. The beach is right behind of the resort and just a 2 minute walk .He assisted us with everything no matter how small or big. THERES NEEDS TO BE A CAMERON AT EVERY RESORT!!! He was amazing. We will be returning to the Bahamas soon and will be only staying at Sandyport Beached Resort!
