Disappointment-

Pros: View
Cons: hours of operation, locations of bars and restaurants
Location: utter poverty off property. Do not leave resort property.
We arrived to a beautiful room with an ocean view. Went to the bar to grab a drink to enjoy on our balcony and look at the ocean after the travel to get there and .... there is no bar or restaurant in the resort. No bar. I was sent to the closest bar about 400 yards away where the options were severely limited - chose a rum drink being in the Caribbean, and got fruit juice with a hint of rum for my efforts. Returned to get a second one for the balcony and found at 5:30 PM the bar was closed as was the pool. Each day of our 5 day stay the pools and bars closed at 5:30 with the exception of a bar some 500 yards away in the Royal Tower. Beautiful 85 degree weather, 80 degree water and we could not use the pool after 6:00PM. The resort is every bit as beautiful as the advertisements but it is not scheduled for adults on vacation and wanting relaxation on the beach or by the pool after 6 PM and if you want a drink - better bring your own. I would have expected this from a minor resort but the Atlantis?? Wow. We will now be returning.

Please know, during the Fall and Winter seasons our hours of operation change due to the decrease in daylight and visibility. For those reading this review, the closest bar to The Reef – our residential luxury tower with home-like amenities such as an in-room kitchen and microwave – is Sea Glass and 77 West located next door at The Cove Atlantis. Nice hotel, the staff was very helpful and polite. Nice hot weather all day long. Plenty of things to do every day

Had a good time but will not return

The reef is not a 41/2 star hotel. The pool area and the beach for the Cove and the Reef were dirty at anytime of the day. Everything is so expensive that it is hard to enjoy the place. Staff was ok, friendly. Concierge staff was great. Don't buy the meal plans bc you will still pay 27% of the price of the meal which is ridiculous. There is an extra charge for pretty much everything but the waterpark. The ocean is gorgeous and the rapids were fun but most likely we are not going back.:(

Worst Run Marriott Property I Have Ever Stayed At

I travel frequently for business and pleasure and I'm Lifetime Gold on Marriott. The Reef is now part of Marriott's Autograph Collection and I was expecting a top-notch experience. Unfortunately, I was deeply disappointed. It overly expensive and poorly managed with a staff that is sullen and unhelpful. The staff failed to fulfill very simple requests on a number of different occasions. The hotel bed was the worst mattress I have ever slept on--not even fit for a one star hotel. The hotel itself is a really nice facility, with very nice pools and an awesome beach in a truly beautiful setting, but it is tainted by the attitude of the staff, a lack of cleanliness, and the exorbitant food, drink, and store prices. I would not stay here again. Never added my Marriott number--requested at least three times. Surly staff in general

Nice hotel terrible staff

Overall the hotel is nice but extremely overpriced for what its offered. The food is horrible and the service is horrendous. The staff treatment is very poor and unprofessional; they do racial differences between their guests, specially to hispanics. The water park was nothing like expected three water slides the most and the pools were dirty. Definitely not coming back ever.

Loved everything about it!

This hotel was awesome. The room was clean and spacious. The kitchenette was a great addition! The beach and pool can't be beat!! The best part about it was the hotel staff. They were amazing and the friendliest I have ever encountered. The lady in the pool towel hut knew my name by the second day. We will definitely be back. The travel hospitality room allowed us to enjoy one last beach and pool day before catching our late evening flight!

Nice hotel close to the beach water park is a hit

It was an overall great experience, I wish that the pools and park open a little later than 6 and 7. Food is super expensive there. Highly recommend that you stop by a local store to get water, beer, and snacks. The staff is a hit and miss. Some are super friendly and others are just plain rude and lazy.

Beautiful but extremely EXPENSIVE!!!!!!

Very beautiful with lots of activities for kids. Most workers are rude because they already have a tip included in everything. They don't have to work at being nice. You better save a few extra thousand dollars to pay for the food!!! Sorry to be a downer. We did have fun as a family but won't return anything soon because of the prices. It should be all inclusive!!!!
