Ignore those negative reviews. It's a nice place. If you want a million choices go to a five star. If you want nice people, beautiful ocean and sufficient facilities stay here. Say hi to shashanna in the bar

Sandals has its name on this property?Posted Sep 21, 2015
Pros: Food and staff were great
Cons: the facility and rooms are old and in need of an interior facelift
Food, staff, and service was what you would expect from a facility with the Sandals name on it but this is an OLD property which badly needs a lot of interior work including better air conditioning units and to charge for a stocked refrigerator seemed inconsistent with the term "all inclusive". Most of the furniture appears to be the stuff left over from the remodeling of Sandals/Negril which isn't necessarily a deal-breaker but not what you would expect from Sandals where we have stayed many times.

Its a nice location right on the beachPosted Sep 15, 2015
Pros: Its on the beach
Cons: The food was 3 out of 10
Location: Ricks cafe is a taxi ride away and water sports close everywhere
Its is well located right on the beach but the food is average every lunch and evening meal was covered in pepper and that is not Jamaican we do make some peppery food but i live in Jamaica and I can say its not typical jamaican food there was no other choices sad for the hotel especially a sandals owned resort.

Ok hotel, not all rooms on beach sidePosted Sep 14, 2015
Food was ok. Drinks from bar were lax on alcohol...all inclusive was ok, but next time I'll have own alcohol. Beach activities great. However, locals on beach are very bothersome and annoying. Didn't like crossing street to enjoy pool or spa, I did neither.

Simple Hotel w/o "Spring Break" atmospherePosted Aug 23, 2015
Pros: Small feel, great staff & can see why you have a "regular" stayer that has spent countless nights there.
Cons: Hotel does need a good renovation and a few natural pest control systems. Did go in the height of humidity season so was to be expected.
Location: Location was perfect. 5min walk to the Mall, even walked to town. Beach is pretty much at your doorstep.
If you are looking for multiple pools, lots of partying, fighting for a spot in the hot tub, having to book a reservation at the "nice" restaurant and different staff every day...THIS IS NOT THE HOTEL FOR YOU. Now if you want that small, relaxing resort feel without all the chaos, this is the perfect place for you. My wife and I have stayed at a few different resorts Big & Small. This is one of the few that we will definitely be coming back to. This is a low cost alternative, so do not think you are going to see large columns and marble floors. You will have staff that will remember your name after only a few minutes, you will see the same staff every day and even the the General Manager himself make sure you have what you need. The bartenders remembered your favorite drink and multiple liquors to choose from, not just a small list of drinks. No need to reserve a beach chair or water sport. Good assortment of foods, had more common items for those not used to island foods. I only had 1 meal that I could not eat and the staff has no problem cooking something up in the kitchen. Pan-handlers are on the beach as well as walking into town. Hint: Greet them, politely decline their offer and leave with a hand-shake, fist bump or high five. You will see the same people most of the time and they remember. If you are interested, make sure to get price up-front. Like I said walked into town. Not a quick trek, but heading to the residential stores will save you money.

Garden side roomPosted Aug 11, 2015
We had a garden side room which is across the street from beach side. There are crossing gaurds 24/7 which was nice. Everyone needed to have a bracelet to be allowed on property. con: AC did not work despite many calls to front desk. Room did not get clean sometimes until after 5:00pm. Made management aware of concerns they were friendly and resolved situation.
