Nice hotel

Posted Jun 7, 2018
The hotel and staff was great, the environment and entertainment was excellent the only things that I was disappointed in was there was not a selection of non pork meats for breakfast and they did not honor the resort credit that Expedia claimed We had. The cruise to rick’s cafe was horrible the music was horrible there was no food offered and there was not that much time to spend at rick’s cafe

This is not like the other RIU's....

Posted Jun 5, 2018
Me and my wife are RIU users. We have been to the hotel in Montego Bay and in Punta Cana. Both were great hotels. This RIU is not like the others. Right off the bat, this is much smaller than other RIUs. The pools are much smaller, and less dining options. It does though, have the same generic food offered and drinks available. And for anyone to has been to Montego Bay, they have the same delicious jerk chicken shack. The hotel looked like it was falling apart. It is in a major need of a paint job. I overheard many people say the same thing. The beds were not very comfortable and the bed's didn't even have comforters. Stay off the beach. The vendors are not your typical vendors (hat guy, cigar guy, statue guy, you know... the general stuff you expect on the beach to try to sell you. It was 100% drug dealers. I understand weed and Jamaica go together, but it was overwhelming. We took a walk on the beach for literally 8 minutes and was offered drugs 5 times. And the dealers won't take no for an answer. You only see guys with backpacks staring you down. There was never any guide to the night shows like the other hotels would have set up for people to read. And there seemed to be not as many of them. After 10:30 p.m. there wasn't much to do. Overall this hotel was disappointing when comparing to their other hotels. I definitely recommend going to the RIU at Montego Bay over this one (plus you don't have to worry about an hour and a half bus ride after the hotel).

What a terrible experience 9 days in paradise where the food sucked! Fire alarms going off randomly and people running through the halls all night long screaming and yelling and slamming doors. The beds were so hard that I should’ve just slept on the beach. Pillows too big. Also we paid $230 for a catamaran cruise to ricks and couldn’t get off the boat but no refund! Then they wanted to charge me another $120 usd to take a taxi to ricks, when you can just walk out to the road and catch a cab for $20! Straight rip off! Also pools were disgusting!
